I had two pieces of approx 1.5 inch aluminium rod recessed on one side with a hole through the center. These are attached to the nose wheel axle with the existing bolt, and the fairing cut to allow them to protrude slightly. The tow bar is made of steel tube with a piece of tube at each side of the attachment end sized to match the recess size in the aluminium collars. The towbar is in two parts which slide together to enable the attachment, then pinned to retain. Hard to describe but if you want a photo, please let me know. I understand how you have done it, I believe, but if you have a photo on file, I would appreciate very much to see it. How thick, approximately, did you make the "bottom" of the recess in order to get sufficient stiffness against bending the fittings?
