Subject: | redux (araldite 420) hardness |
MessageMy 420 had crystalised some what and i had seen some people
mentioning heating it gently till the crystals
are gone which took about an hour at 50 degrees or so ( hot water bath) and
the crystals are gone ok
but i am just wondering, it sets in about 6 hours, but roughly how hard is
it normally after 24 hours
I just did the bolt captivity for the quick connects on cs14 and i can file
the 420 it seems about as hard
a a piece of alloy would be, it does however clog the file, and i understand
it takes about a week to fully cure
does this seem about right, ambient temp is about 22c currently

Subject: | Europa Construction Cradle |
I have for sale a cradle (designed after that of Chuck Popenoe) which
has proved great for supporting the fuselage during all stages of
construction whilst allowing wing/tailplane attachment and gear fitting
/operation.
Easily assembled and disassembled without the use of bolts or screws as
all joints are well made and tight. Castors can be added if desired.
Buy for less than the cost of the timber but please collect from
Camberley, Surrey, uk.
=A360 only. Please contact me off list if interested.

Well where was everyone? Especially Nigel Charles, the instigator!!
4 of us made it to Panshangar today, on what was an absolutely beautiful
day for flying, (well untill the smoke from the East London warehouse
fire spread out).

Sorry Dave,
But almost dislocated my shoulder on Saturday so flying, in fact almost
everything even typing is an ordeal.
Yes, weather today has been fabulous and therefore exasperating too.

Anyone know where I could get some of the unlined material and braid
use in the factory upholstery kit? Going to try the factory but guess
they buy these kits in.

I have an album for the interior kit. There is a pic of the baggage

Hi Paul
You can have a look at a PDF:
Go to http://www.europaowners.org/
Scroll down to Doculent Storage
Open "upholstery" from Ivor
Again not a perfect set of instructions, and some info is from older kit.

Dear Europa Gurus',
I have a question for the builders list. I bought an "orphaned" Europa Clasic
kit and the former builder didn't get too far with it. I am currently building
the wings and I am using fresh MGS epoxy because I was concerned that the Ampreg
Epoxy that came with the original kit in the early to mid nineties was past
its usable shelf life.
With that in mind and just for the hell of it: Out of curiosity I mixed up a 100
grams of an already opened Ampreg epoxy container and took some scrap fiberglass
and did a lay-up and low and behold the old epoxy cured rock hard and seems
ok.
My question is could I use this old epoxy that came with the original buyers kit?
And if it can be used could it be used on structural parts? Or if it cannot be
used in a structural capacity could it be used on non-structural parts? (say
final coating and fairing)
I'm really curious to say the least. In a nutshell it would be great to use and
save quite a bit of money as opposed to harden it all so it could be thrown
away into a land fill. I guess I could epoxy a garage floor or use it on an
old boat of furniture project?
I curious to see what you all have to say; thank you for your time and consideration.
Regards,
Jeff Paris

I have seen your pictures and love your panel.
Do you have made yourself?
And have you any others pictures and panel dimensions?
If it is possible to send to me off
