    Subject: Rotax mandatory service bulletin
    From: "josok" <josok-e@ukolo.fi>
Just in case somebody is not registered on tghe rotax-owners site: ----------------- The following Mandatory Service Bulletin affecting specific 912/914 engine, gear box and gear set serial number ranges has been released by Rotax: SB-912-056/SB-914-038 - SB-912-056UL/SB-914-038UL Replacement of the Propeller Gearbox for some Rotax engine type 912/914 (series). SUMMARY OF BULLETIN: Due to a slightly increased amount of irregularity in the form of material inclusions some isolated problems were detected on the gear box gear set in the field. Such material inclusions in the area of the tooth base can lead to tooth break under severe operating conditions. Affected gear sets must be replaced. CHECKING IF YOUR ENGINE, GEARBOX OR GEAR SET IS AFFECTED; Engine serial number and gear box serial number must be checked against the affected serial number ranges listed in the applicable SB. For engines which have had the gear box previously removed for service and have had the original gear set changed, the replacement gear set must also be checked against the affected serial number ranges listed in the SB to determine if the gear set is affected. COMPLIANCE: During the next maintenance event or at the latest April 30th 2008. ADDITIONAL EXPANDED VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS: A special on-line video has been developed to supplement this mandatory SB and add further information on checking for affected serial numbers. As well this video provides further detailed instructions for proper removal and replacement of the gear box and special material and tool requirements. Click here for access to this additional information http://www.rotax-owner.com/expanded.htm Regards, Jos Okhuijsen Visit - www.EuropaOwners.org

Daviud Nice to hear from you. How are things in hfd=85cold and wet I imagime. Hope you had a good Xmas. With reference to my =93problem=94 I can really explain why some of the injection is not working for me. Partly the problem is a lot of small voids and some big ones. I think the problem arises from not putting one sufficient redux when I bonded the module in. If I was doing the process again I think I would invert the thing that is to say put the cockpit module on its back and glue the hull to it. You risk of course redux running into controls etc. alternatively I would support the fuse in something that allowed it to flex to the shape of the cockpit module. Too late now. Hi Fred John told me late last year that they would be there. There are a few Brits, myself included, that are going to make the annual pilgrimage and of course the traditional visit to the local Hooters. Best Wishes Rick Morris G-RIKS Tri 912s. -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Fred Klein Sent: 09 January 2008 17:34 Subject: Re: Europa-List: Upcoming Sun N Fun 2008 > Anybody know whether Europa 2004 will be attending this year? Jeff and All, Yes, Mary and I will be there for the whole show, flying Baby Blue this year, as all previous problems have been solved, however that is another story, which I will be happy to share when I have time to write it up. suffice it to say that Baby Blue has never run so well. I, too, am looking forward to a whole parking lot full of Europa... :) Jeff - Baby Blue 360 hrs JEFF ROBERTS wrote: > > Hello Jeff, > Say hello to the Mary as well. Ira, I like the way you think. I'm sure we can arrange that "Engineering" meeting, in fact maybe two or three... :) Look forward to seeing you again...
