Hi Martin Me and many other 912/914 users have used Morgan CarbTune ( 2-column system ) http://www.carbtune.com/ with great success. CarbTune has a stable reading and the two columns are close to each other and therefor very easy to read. CarbTune is fairly cheap. Order one and you will not regret. Regards Stephan LN-STE #556 Mono. Now 75 hours and can hardly wait for the next flight :-)

Martin, >From what I see on the video, the dual needle manifold pressure gauge is an aircraft instrument as used on twin engine aircraft. That is a very good but expensive solution unless you can find a used instrument in a salvage yard. Good luck. If you are creative you could make a simple but effective one, using two clear solid tubes of PVC and a couple of light plastic balls with a restrictor on one end and the hose attached to the other suck a vacuum on both lines and adjust the restrictor so the balls rise in the tube the same amount so you know it is reading the same on both tubes. we used one of these (glass tubes) on older race bikes to tune the carbs to get the mixtures equal. The carb tune system mentioned my stephan looks much the same craig -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of Martin Tuck Sent: Tuesday, 19 February 2008 1:47 PM Subject: Europa-List: Carburetor Synchronization Hi Folks, I watched with interest the Rotax-owner.com video on carburetor synchronization. Hi Martin, I have had great success with an electronic differential vacuum gauge designed for motor cycles. It has variable sensitivity, it is so sensitive that I can detect the difference in cable length. I have tubes long enough that I can sit in the seat of the aircraft and run the throttle up. You can see them at http://www.ridenow.com/product/detail/TWINMAX.aspx Paul

Have you considered a Twinmax balancing gauge - dead simple - works on the differential pressure between the two manifolds. Available here USA http://www.adventurersworkshop.com/twinmax.htm or here UK http://www.calamander.co.uk/twinmax/twinmaxmk2.htm Just remove the balancing pipe and connect one pipe to each manifold. There is an access hole at the bottom of each Bing carburettor intended for balancing but its impossible to get at so a bit pointless. Using the manifold connections is just as good. We used a twin mechanical vacuum gauge before and it was very hit and miss. First problem is that no two gauges are the same or equally linear accross the pressure band. Second is you have to damp out the oscillations caused by the fluctuating pressures. Carl Pattinson G-LABS Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=165029#165029

It looked like a manifold pressure gauge for a twin-engine 'plane. Often available on Ebay. Very expensive solution to get them new! Hi Folks, Can some of you measure the distance that the sides of the ramp comes up and has contact on the sides of the landing gear frame? Also note if you have the larger diameter tire. I have the Air Trac tire and the one-off steel trailer that I bought from Europa USA years ago. The sides didn't come up very far so I had some extra length added to the side tabs to better capture the gear frame. Now the brake caliper is hitting when I roll the plane onto the ramp. So I'll have to cut some off again. It never ends....... Troy Maynor

Troy, I just put my monowheel fuselage onto the Europa trailer this week and took it to the airport. The only problem was the plates that were supposed to capture the tailwheel. There was no way to fit them onto the trailer. Way too much crap in the way. Anywho, when I have an opportunity I'll run out to the airport and take some pics and measurements for you.
