You may be interested to know that as Kate and I are currently in the USA
for a while. we have had to apply to the FAA for a certificate to confirm we
are fully able to speak "conversational English" as its now a requirement if
we want to fly internationally. It seems bureaucracy is a booming business.

Got this email from Jerry off list:
"Steve, A friend of mine is building a lift trailer for monowheel and needs to
know height from ground to belly at highest point to get clearance for cradle
to roll underneath. Thanks, Jerry Hope"
I'm away and can't get the measurements to him. Can someone please post the numbers?
Thanks

Subject: | Coolant temp on a 914 |
Good-day,
In my writhing to complete the wiring for this project, I dimly
recall the need to add a coolant temp sensor and indicator to the stack -
and that someone had volunteered a source for same. I believe the sensor
lay in one of the coolant lines but not sure where.
I am begging for info on this topic (as I have for many before it)
and would appreciate any reply.
Cheers, Ferg
PS: Am wiring in a Dynon EMS-D10 screen.

Ferg,
There is a temperature sensor and fitting that goes in the line between the coolant filler manifold and the radiator. I purchased mine from Grand Rapids Technologies ( http://www.grtavionics.com/ ). The temperature sensor is $18. They don't list the fitting on their accessories page and but it is Part No. H2O-Fit-01 and the cost was $30.00.
Contact Sandy (sandy@grtavionics.com) or 616-245-7700.
If you wish, you can see the sensor, fitting, installation instructions & final
installation at my build web site. Album Year #7 Q1 2008 middle of page 1.
Good building and great flying,
Bob Borger

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the helpful comments on my previous post re: Rudder Cables!
Regarding door latches...the build manual speaks of bending an offset
into the inner latch arm, DL03 but makes no mention of the distance of
the offset...What works? 1/8 inch? 1/4 inch?
Also, is there a clever locksmith among us who has added a keyed lock
which keeps the shoot bolts in place?..or provides security in some
other fashion? Any references to pictures would be much appreciated.
Some time ago, there was concern about the window frames bulging and as
I recall, Cliff Shaw had a very clever albeit complex third (vertical I
believe) shoot bolt. Might not "bulging" be more easily handled by
adding a bid stiffening angle along the interior bottom edge of the
window frame? (Or is the bulging the result of failure to relieve
cabin air pressure by not venting the baggage bay bulkhead thence out
thru the recommended drain holes at the underside of the fuselage?)

Yes Cliff did have that cool extra center shoot bolt. But others have done
the same with just a Fixed post in the center that they just pulled the
window down over and was a much simpler mod. I have neither and really don't
notice a problem. Man you need to get done! I need another Europa up here in
the islands to fly with! Take care.
Jerry
