Duncan ....I can confirm that ! I requested some assistance about 7 years ago none was forthcoming but I wasn't brave enough to do my own thing, so now I'm keeping the tyre company afloat ! However my gut feeling is that the toe in doesn't change but the legs spring outwards. This means that on touch down the oustide of the tyres take the "accelerating wheel speed up" this results in outside tyre wear being far greater than the inside and coupled with toe in wear on the outside it indicates that probably the angle of the legs could have spread the wear better. Once set it means changing the tyres round at 50% wear. If the tracking changes greatly under load it would suggest that setting up initially with some compensatory toe-in/out would be beneficial. No good to you by then! I have just had to change my Radiator Hoses after 150 hours using Evans - it seemed to soften them and developed a leak on the ends - tightening the clips didn't achieve anything. The hoses had expanded before the clamps and had gone "Squishy". Hoses have been changed and Evans flushed out and replaced with 50/50 glycol mix and all is now well again. regards Trev Pond G-LINN ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 05:35:47 AM PST US From: "Raimo Toivio" Subject: Re: Europa-List: Door shoot bolt pushrod fabrication Fred, thank you for a nice memory like a short daytime movie for me. That was EXACTLY what I did including a 2nd set. It was quite challenging but real fun. I was worried about those thin slot sides but so far they are ok. A few minutes w/ a small flat file dressed it up fine. It was much easier than I thought it would be. Happily, that was the case because after trial fitting, I was not getting the shoot bolt penetration I needed as my forward rods were too short, and ended up making a second set. Good luck, Fred On Thursday, Mar 27, 2008, at 12:50 US/Pacific, wrote: Those who have gone before, Currently attempting to fabricate the forward shoot bolt push rods (10mm Al rod with slots, flats and cross drilled holes). Pride is keeping me from taking it to a machine shop and having done quickly and 'properly'. I am curious as to how others have cut the slots. Hack saw is too narrow with insufficient control. Belt sander inside the hack saw slit is proving much to slow in material removal. Thinking about rotary abrasive wheel... Any creative suggestions for making the slot other than a vertical mill?
