Thanks Ira. I been outta the build loop so long on this thing that I've lost a lot of interest. Basically just need the exhaust pipe to complete the annual, fly off another 15 ours, then put the interior in and it'll be ready to sell. Market so soft on Europas tho that I may just hang onto it a few years and fly when I can. Take care, Paul Boulet, Malibu, CA N914PB do not archive rampil <ira.rampil@gmail.com> wrote: Unlike the 912s the 914 uses a specific Rotax set of parts. Fred - thanks for the kind words - I try to make it as useful as I can to me, and if in the process it helps others, that's a bonus! The vinyl was 1.36mm (see the entry for 2007-11-25) but I would guess that anything up to about 1.5mm would be OK. The vinyl does tend to compress a bit if you get the recommended amount of weight on the joint. regards Rowland -- | Rowland Carson LAA #16532 http://home.clara.net/rowil/aviation/ | 990 hours building Europa #435 G-ROWI e-mail <rowil@clara.net>

Folks, I need a set for the 914 engine I am building up for my fuel injection project and when I looked into the price a price a year ago they were $1100.00 per pipe, and no doubt cost more since the shift in the US dollar to the Euro. I did notice that Jason Parker has a nice looking set of pipes and turbocharger manifold that he has fabricated for his turbo charged Rotax engines that he offers on his web site at http://www.experimentalfuelinjection.com/wst_page4.php. I haven't had any luck in getting him to return my emails, I suspect he is only interested in selling complete engines. I would be interested to hear if anyone finds a local manufacturer for 914 Exhaust pipes. Paul

I spoke to him at length a few times about his engines etc, he kept indicating that he was happy to sell kits for other engines, as at that stage he couldnt source any more ex military 912 or 914 rotax engines. At the time i believe he was quoting around $4000 for a redundant EFI setup for the 914, he was also offering me a complete setup to take a 912 to 914efi, he was however a bit slow in responding to emails, sometimes up to a week craig -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of Fred Klein Sent: Sunday, 13 April 2008 5:29 AM Subject: Europa-List: Jason Parker engines Has anyone had any experience with or background information on Jason Parker modified Rotaxes in their Europa? ...full of questions, Fred A194 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. Hey Guys "I would be interested to hear if anyone finds a local manufacturer for 914 Exhaust pipes." A local IA swears by (not at) Dawley: http://www.dawley.net/ for Certified Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft stuff. He has had special stuff made up for oddball aircraft and was very happy with results. Worth a call, let us know outcome. Ron Parigoris

Having discovered what Mitchell prescribed for the Spitfire (which can't be all that bad, I decided half-bad was better than sharp corners, so went half way... The method was to fit foam forms to the flap area and carve a suitable shape which would slide the fillets under the GraSing ones at the trailing edge. PLUS I thought the fillet, when flaps extended, might serve partially as a fence to prevent unnecessary air being dumped off the flap.... Maybe not. I have uploaded 4 photos of my project. showing the installation of fairings/fillets. Go to the EuropaOwners gallery and I'm about fifth album down The series shows (I hope) fourth, a mod to one flap inboard end. The fillet slides under the trailing edge end of the main fillet, visible in the first three shots. I began with Graham Singleton's excellent fillet set, and embellished by extending the function to the flaps. Further explanation, on demand. Cheers, Ferg

Jason parker, Take a look at www.experimentalfuelinjection.com and click on the Europa link. This is the motor I just finished for Curtis. Bud also has the same engine. I would like to thank Bud for his help. Without Bud lending me his engine, I would never have been able to build and engine that would have worked for Europas. Unfortunately I have to buy new engine from the factory and convert them. The price of a zero time fully redundand intercooled 914 is 30K. All my engines comes standard with a 55amp alt and a wideband 02 sensor. Hi Ferg "The method was to fit foam forms to the flap area and carve a suitable shape which would slide the fillets under the GraSing ones at the trailing edge." For what it's worth I remember hearing that filling the flap close to make the inboard side flush caused carbon monoxide to work its way into cockpit. Ron Parigoris
