Craig I have vowed never to get in there again. I was head first in and arms above my head so to speak and took a really bad chest cramp. With no one in earshot and no mobile 'phone to hand I was very shaken by the time I had extricated myself. Very dangerous position to find oneself, any older builders should get a "heads up" and hire a child or a "height impaired adult "! Have any of you done this or looked at it and gave up. craig ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 01:14:24 AM PST US From: Gert Dalgaard Subject: Re: Europa-List: Camping Mod I can't quite understand your negative waves, Bob. I have been in there several times and enjoyed every minute. Still remember last time when I was doing final adjustment after completing mod. 73 - a wonderful place to work - plenty of room, fresh air and light so you can se what you are doing. Don't know, but it seems that as I get older it gets even more fun in there - other ( post 50 ) builder who have discovered the same thrill, or am I the only one?? :-))) Regards Gert OY-GDS Den 22/04/2008 kl. 09.01 skrev Robert C Harrison: > Hi! We're just about to move G-GIDY off its cradle and into a trailer and will be looking to move the cradle on to a deserving home. It's served us well for several years of our protracted build. It has castoring / locking wheels and leveling feet. Aircraft move likely to be in the next couple of weeks. If you're interested drop me an email off list and I can give you more details - pics etc if you wish. It works well and I am just about to take my aircraft off because it is finished. I also have a set of Classic cowls and spinner- unused. It requires a tailwheel lifter to acquire a horizontal state though. I am planning To revise another bar which could be used to lift the tailwheel securely for that purpose. The head would then be forward between the 'headrests' and one could then roll slightly to relieve the usual ennui. I added a prelim sketch to the Fuselage Album in my Gallery corner. When I go in headfirst, I crank up the tailwheel to level the 'bed' before entering - I can't afford the excess blood wasted in my noggin otherwise... Agreed Gert, I don't know what Bob is going on about either. It is a really great place to work . . . . I mean, where else can you balance on one arm while trying to do six things with the other all the time trying to levitate oneself in order not to damage the floor structure?. Some people don't seem to enjoy anything in life, do they ? All in jest Bob and I'll have a load of garden soil too please mate !
