In most countries a quantity of that size would probably fall into an exemption packing group the same as most hair care products, a lot of which are corrosive or oxidizing agents also, but arent considered hazardous because of the small amounts involved -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of Carl Pattinson Sent: Sunday, 25 May 2008 9:35 PM To: europa-list@matronics.com Subject: Re: Europa-List: Araldite 420/2102 - Availabilty I just checked and the packs are 1.4kg, not 2kg as I believed. In the UK these are available for L80 including tax and shipping. Split into 200g batches would work out at L12 each plus postage. OK, I know that posting is a no no due to them being classed as hazardous chemicals but small batches properly packaged shouldnt be a problem. Checked by AVG. 6:49 PM

I'm in the process of installing my toe brakes, but the book talks about putting the cylinders on the port side of the bracket. I installed the two cylinders between the two bracket supports. Now I'm questioning myself. Any picture out there? I measured the 4 1/2 inches and there does not seem to be enought room to put the left brake cyinder on the outside of the bracket. Any help would be nice.

Hi Nigel, I would love to come, but sadly it cant be the Saturday. Please put me down for Sunday if it turns out that way. Best regards. Bryan From: nwcmc@tiscali.co.ukTo: europa-list@matronics.comSubject: Europa-List: FW: UK/Europe readers only - Lydeway Fly-In 2008Date: Sun, 25 May 2008 19: 34:28 +0100 I am not sure whether this email got sent first time around. Apologies if it is a repeat. This is a reminder for anyone considering attending the Lydeway Fly-In this year. There are still a few places left. As this is a strictly PPR fly-in with limited places if you are interested in attending please respond to th is email. It isn't necessary to have a flying Europa for this event. In fac t a variety of aircraft types adds to the interest of the event so if you h ave an alternative aircraft we would be pleased to welcome you. With that i n mind feel free to pass on details of this event to other GA pilots. Regards Nigel Charles ----------------------------------------- LYDEWAY BBQ/FLY-IN 2008 The Lydeway BBQ/Fly-In will be held on Saturday 14th June 2008 with Sunday 15th June as a back-up day in case of bad weather. For those who haven't be en to Lydeway before it is a 790m grass strip 11nm south of RAF Lyneham. A BBQ and drinks are provided for free in exchange for a couple of joyride fl ights for local residents. Due to the numbers of flight movements during th e day I need to limit the event to 12-14 aircraft. With that in mind it is strictly PPR and I am now taking bookings. If you are only able to make one or other of the 2 days set aside for the event that is OK as I am taking b ookings for both days independently. There will be a weather check at 2000h rs on Friday 14th June and immediately afterwards pilots will be notified b y email as to which day the event will go ahead. Anyone interested in attending should contact me at nwcmc@tiscali.co.uk or by phone on 01380 860620. Tom, The mail was not completed and I don't know why it went away from my screen. So I mailed that I am deaf.... for 30%. I use the Sennheiser ANR headsets and the volume for the radio is rather hard for normal ears. Sometimes, and especially womens voices, are nearly heard but then I ask to repeat until I receive the answer in for me understandable volume. Don't be afraid; they will not kick you out of the air. Like one of those BOSE or ZULU ANR headsets to cut out virtually all background noise and turn the radio way up so you can hear it clearly. Sure they are not cheap but if it lets you keep flying, assuming you want to, it could be worth a look. -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of Tom Friedland Sent: Saturday, 24 May 2008 6:17 AM To: Europa Forum Subject: Europa-List: europa for sale Yes it hurts. Paul, Yes, both disbonded from trailering. I simply bonded them in again with redux, making sure that there was enough of a gap all around for the adhesive to go on all sufaces. I also made a f loxed ring on the inside of the rib. Mounted the tailplanes just far enough for the t.t. to go into the TP6. Made sure that no redux would touch the t.t. while curing. Years later, with the Mod 73 fiasco, I removed the TP5's with heat and repl aced them with long TP5's that reach up to the TP6. Hi Paul "Anyone had TP5 disbond from the tail plane root rib? If so I'd like > to pick your brains." My partner and his dad picked up our kit in Florida and trucked it back to New York. The first time I saw kit, the first thing I did was begin to fool with tailplanes. It took 45 minutes to have a TP5 debonded! Tailplanes were "accelerated". Here is how we dealt with: http://www.europaowners.org/modules.php?set_albumName=album220&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php We did send back and repair was putting a fillet of flox from outside (April 2003). Unacceptable. Too were worries that the outer bushings was bonded as well as the inners which would probably fail right after final paint applied. "When" our inner and outer bushings become debonded, there will be a lot of aeroplane coming with them. Note rowing skull CF oars for guide while assembling. I like the Mod. of wrapping fiberglass around both bushings on a new build, but not too easy to do on a completed tailplane. I would rather see the first layer of BID using redux and peelply, then when cured use Aeropoxy/BID to complete. Redux holds better to metals and its slight flexibility prevents as harsh a point loading. Still a fine mod because upon assembly it prevents tremendous loads being exerted on inner bushing until torque tube enters the outer bushing. I do understand the BID encapsulates the bushings, still first layer of Redux is better IMHO. Ron Parigoris

    Subject: Europa Trailer Tie Rods
Hi Folks, I'm fortunate to have a hangar for my Europa, but I do still use the Europa supplied trailer on occasion - usually to do my annual check, like I did today. I find that I always have a problem getting the tie rods to lock the ramp in place once the aircraft is on the trailer. Today they seem too short. I think it has something to do with the tire pressure. I seem to have run out of adjustment. Have any of you who use the trailer have a better tie rod method which is adjustable once the aircraft is on to 'take up the slack' - a chain maybe, or some other adjustable rod/linkage. Any ideas would be appreciated? Regards, Martin Tuck N152MT Wichita, Kansas
