The mail was not completed and I don't know why it went away from my scre

and especially womens voices, are nearly heard but then I ask to repeat un

Surely there is Technological fix that would allow you to keep flyi
ng. Like one of those BOSE or ZULU ANR headsets to cut out
virtually all background noise and turn the radio way up so you can
hear it clearly. Sure they are not cheap but if it lets you keep
flying, assuming you want to, it could be worth a look.

      Hi Martin!

I have had no problems to use mine.
Those purpose-made rods are easily adustable +/- 2".
It is much to do w tire pressure and their adjustment.
The rubber string is there to prevent opening w/o intention.
Please study the attached pic - hope it helps!

        Hi Folks,

I'm fortunate to have a hangar for my Europa, but I do still use the
Europa supplied trailer on occasion - usually to do my annual check,
      like I did today.

I find that I always have a problem getting the tie rods to lock the
ramp in place once the aircraft is on the trailer. Today they seem too
short. I think it has something to do with the tire pressure. I seem to
      have run out of adjustment.

Have any of you who use the trailer have a better tie rod method which
is adjustable once the aircraft is on to 'take up the slack' - a chain
maybe, or some other adjustable rod/linkage.

        Any ideas would be appreciated?

      Rick,
Both pedals go between the rudders with the mounting brackets between
the rudders with the horizontal flanges facing one another. I have the
old manual with the brakes between the rudders pages with drawings which
are quite clear if you need it (Page 33T-3 of the old manual). If you
don't have that, I can scan the sheets and send them via email Wed

I'm in the process of installing my toe brakes, but the book talks

I installed the two cylinders between the two bracket supports. Now

      Hi Bryan

I do have one pilot who can only make the Saturday so that makes your
slot allocation for the Sunday only very easy.

Just remind me of your a/c reg and where you are based. Also could I
have home/mobile phone numbers. Last year we had a problem with emails
not getting through so phone numbers provide a useful backup.

A briefing sheet will be sent out at the end of the month.

I am not sure whether this email got sent first time around. Apologies
      if it is a repeat.

This is a reminder for anyone considering attending the Lydeway Fly-In
this year. There are still a few places left. As this is a strictly PPR
fly-in with limited places if you are interested in attending please
respond to this email. It isn't necessary to have a flying Europa for
this event. In fact a variety of aircraft types adds to the interest of
the event so if you have an alternative aircraft we would be pleased to
welcome you. With that in mind feel free to pass on details of this
      event to other GA pilots.

flight movements during the day I need to limit the event to 12-14
aircraft. With that in mind it is strictly PPR and I am now taking
bookings. If you are only able to make one or other of the 2 days set
aside for the event that is OK as I am taking bookings for both days
independently. There will be a weather check at 2000hrs on Friday 14th
June and immediately afterwards pilots will be notified by email as to
which day the event will go ahead.

Anyone interested in attending should contact me at nwcmc@tiscali.co.uk
or by phone on 01380 860620.

      Bob,
No, I have the impression that there is an interference between the
hearing aids and the ANR of the headsets. Still hoping that one day use
      of both might be possible.

Do you use hearing aids to pep up only the frequencies that you need?
You may be able to use less volume.

          Tom,
The mail was not completed and I don't know why it went away from my
screen. So I mailed that I am deaf.... for 30%. I use the Sennheiser ANR
headsets and the volume for the radio is rather hard for normal ears.
Sometimes, and especially womens voices, are nearly heard but then I ask
to repeat until I receive the answer in for me understandable volume.
Don't be afraid; they will not kick you out of the air.
          Best regards,
          Karel Vranken.

Surely there is Technological fix that would allow you to keep
flying. Like one of those BOSE or ZULU ANR headsets to cut out
virtually all background noise and turn the radio way up so
you can hear it clearly. Sure they are not cheap but if it lets you keep
flying, assuming you want to, it could be worth a look.

Yes it hurts. It has been virtually complete for the past 3
years while I contemplated my increasing hearing loss. It is now such
that I can no longer understand many radio transmissions. Therefore, it

Thank you Ron. Unfortunately our final paint is indeed on. Really
dislike the idea of merely gluing it back in place - don't see how
it's going to be better. Before embarking on major surgery like
yours, we're investigating the possibility of getting the outer edge
of TP5 welded to a plate of thinish SS such that when the TP% is
bonded back in place the plate sits flat on the root rib to which it
could be bonded. If it come to nothing we may go your way.

I suggest that this problem can also be caused by undue side loads
translating into torsional and axial loads on a badly lubricated
torque tube when putting the tailplane on or off (easily done
especially if you don't hold it the way it says in the user manual).

The design is not brilliant, with quite a small area for the bond.
Repair could be difficult if the original internal flox fillet
prevents the disbonded sleeve from being removed completely for
degreasing. Note that if you do need to degrease in situ prior to
rebonding, then IPA is an effective degreasing agent that does not
dissolve the blue foam like some other solvents.

Needless to say (??) anyone with a G-reg aircraft who wants to go
public about such a problem might need their repair scheme to be
approved by the LAA if they didn't want to risk invalidating their
Permit, and therefore, in turn, their insurance.

Willie Harrison (too tired to write the book, "A Plane is Reborn" and
still waiting for the LAA to give me my Permit back after a 700 hr re-
      build.....)

Paul, There was a discussion about this a few months ago. I used a T6 alum
inium tube from ACS. Someone pointed out that the interior should be plated
with something first, but I can't remember what that process was. I think
the reasoning was dissimilar metals and possibility of corrosion. My torque
tube is always greased because I have seen corrosion on at least one Europ
a, with the regular setup.Being in UK, you may want to check with Roger if
their supplier can cut you two longer tubes out of the same material as TP5
       and TP6. Karl<html><div></div>

Thank you Bob. Making a puller to pull the offending articles out.
Investigating (with LAA) possibility of welding plate or tabs to the
TP5 which would then bond flat to the root rib as well as TP5 in the
      plywood.

      Regards
