Darin, The warning and alarm limits for 914 EGTs given by Rotax in the
Flydat manual are 880 & 900 degrees Centigrade respectively. Mine usually
run around the 700 mark with the rear pair being perhaps 60 deg hotter.
880C. is 1616F, and 760 is 1400F so you haven't exceeded limits but seem to
be running hotter than I do. But on the other hand if you are just doing
ground runs you aren't getting much in the way of cooling, & new engines
also run relatively hot until they have polished all the rough surfaces off
a bit. Regards, David Joyce, G-XSDJ

      Hi David

As a matter of interest do Rotax publish a limit for turbo inlet temperature
      and do you monitor it?

      Hi Pete
Rotax allow a max inlet temp of 72c (160F) or 88c (190F) depending on
the serial number of the TCU, I have never exceeded 50C so far with
      normal cruise being about 35C

      Hi All,

I noticed a few questions on the list regarding the second US Annual
Europa Fly in. For those who missed the first email from Jeff and I
      here it is again.

If you are planning on attending please let myself or Jeff know and we
will keep a "Running List" published on the forum.

Be it known throughout the land and across to far shores that the
second Annual Europa Fly-in will be held in the Hamlet of "Falls of
Rough" on the very days of September 6 and 7 in the year of our Lord

Hi all, Jeff and I have been working with the management of the Rough
River Resort and have found taking into account regional fly-in dates
and accommodation availability that the best date for this years event
is the weekend of September 6th and 7th

Rough River is part of the Kentucky State Park system with its own
airport (2I3), camping facilities and a lodge, which is walking
distance from the airport. The lodge has both rooms and cabin style
      accommodation.

Rough River offers walking trails, fishing, beach, golfing and a large
marina that has rental craft of all sizes available.

At the time of writing the resort has four two bedroom cabins and
twenty single rooms available. I would encourage anyone who is
interested to book early as accommodation fills quickly.

For more in Rough River take a look at

      For reservations call 800-325-1713.

Please let me or Jeff know if you are contemplating attending. It
would help us better plan the event if we had an approximate head
      count.

Sad for me to report that N224XS and I will also be MIA from
      Airventure this year.

I will be taking the week to finish off my IFR rating with hope that
this will increase the odds that I can fly-in next year.

Safe passage, good wx, and good hunting for goodies to all at KOSH

Count me in tentatively Paul. I'll be there if I complete the
conversion of 058 to conventional gear and comfortable flying her.

058 was at Rough River with Steve Crimm last year - he's now a
-9A(ist), as is Jim Nelson who built her.

For those of you who know Jim, he just completed first flt.
of his 9A 2 weeks ago!

Unfortunately, Mary and I and Baby blue will also be absent. We've got
way more work than any man and woman should have to do... ;)

      Jeff,
Maybe you should get a clone. If you find a method of pulling that one
off I would be interested!! I also have more than I can do on the back
      10. Therefore I will not be at air venture this year either. I will
however be attending with Gold Rush the Rough River fly-in in Sept.
      Looking forward to it!!
      Regards,

      Jeff R.

from North Carolina will be after midday on Sunday, dependent on weather
      of course.

      Hello All,
Well with only two weeks before the start of Airventure it has been
really quite on forum. Is anyone planning on attending??? If all goes to
plan N28ET will be flying out on Saturday from Las Vegas, NV, arriving
Sunday morning and remaining until Friday or Saturday. I am planning on
camping with my plane. Erich Trombley N28ET Classic Mono 914

      Nigel,

Have you managed to ascertain why your Outrigger failed to latched.

      Await your judgement.

      Peter.
