Difficult to answer this one with so little to go on. It is a bit depending on
how and where that voltage is measured. With the standard Rotax gen., even with
a faulty regulator, it would not be possible to charge a healthy battery to
over 16 V, measured on the battery. What is the not-occasional voltage you are
seeing while charging and immediately after engine stop? I suppose you don't
have charge/discharge current measuring? I would check in order of probability:
The meter (cross check with another voltmeter), the wiring to the regulator,
the regulator AND the battery.

Hi David,
Although I'm not familiar with your particular Garmin, I have a Garmin 250XL
installed in my Europa. The 250XL has a provision to allow remote toggling
of the active and standby COM channels. I would imagine yours does too. I have
this feature wired to a button on my left stick. The input requires a
momentary ground from the switch on the stick grip to toggle the channels. Early
on, my Garmin started doing what you describe, toggling between active and
standby channels. It seemed to have a mind of it's own. Turned out that the
switch in my Ray Allen stick grip had gone bad. It was intermittently grounding
the toggle wire to the Garmin and was causing the errant toggling of the COM
channels.
If you have your radio wired this way, that could be the culprit.

Hi . I was not sure weather to lubricate the tufnol bearings myself so I
backed two horses. I made provision to oil both ends by drilling 1mm dia
holes into each bearing and a small access hole into the seat back . I
didn't oil or grease them [a] because you may not need to and [b] because
you will have produced a lot of dust over the remaining build period which
mixed with oil could cause the very problem your trying to stop !

Hi all,
I have been trying to download the 912 / 914 Illustrated parts
catalogue from Rotax-owner.com and I am having some difficulty.
Despite having broad band the download time is very long and when I
try and save it to disk I get an I/O time out error.
Is anyone else having difficulty in downloading from this site, and if
so, does anyone know of another site that may be better.

Bob,
I guess it must be 10th time lucky or something but I got it this time
around. All the others worked first shot.
I missed a big bunch of Europa people at the show. Some how or other
we didn't have our act together this year. I think there were 5
Europa's that flew in and I only got to meet up with one of the for
any extended period of time.
Last year we all met that the homebuilders cabin around 11.00 in the
morning, and that worked well. We will have to do that next year so
we can all hook up.
