He bought the plane from Joachim Hohenstein last year. I guess they didn't want him at the moment so his life will hopefully now last very long. So now we have a Ponce de Len recipe for long life. Greg Hi Bruno guess he wasn't good enough to go to heaven and not bad enough for the other place ;-) , like me! I got it recorded, thanks to the heads up on this site. He has got to be the luckiest man alive (and she). So far, it looks like it suffered one prop taken out, and probably some scratches and dents. Can't imagine they just will cut the cord to let it down. Greg I immediately recognized it as a Europa Classic Tri-Gear when I saw it on Fox News this evening. Sheppard Smith was doing his around the world in 80 seconds and they showed a brief shot of it. I knew I'd find the story here too. Wow they were lucky. Hope they got the plane down too without breaking it. In the worst case you have to retune the antenna, but this is not likely. It is best to leave the aerial tuned to the lower part of the band until the airplane is finished, and then trim the lenght to the middle of the band. But then again it doesn't really matter, since the coax lenght is fairly small, and losses are therefor minimal anyway. As long as the SWR is within the radio's manufacturer limit you don't have to bother over its performance.
