Mike,
My trailer accomodated the Mono which had the extended tailwheel mod.
i.e. the tailwheel was not under the fuselage as per the early Monos.
The tailwheel was under the rudder and the trailer accomodates this.
Hope this helps.
When you get a figure I will measure my trailer to prevent a wasted
journey

I read the article on filling the big areas wiuth great interest,
and 3 years
too late. Nevertheless it is a good treatise on the art.
I have but one question to ask, because I pre-wetted the application
area with pure epoxy (if barely VERY sparingly, i.e: "one- atom-sheen") and
left it a few minutes to 'set'. Then applied mix.
I quote from the lesson -
"Some people squeegee pure resin on the surface to wet it out just prior
applying the micro. I see no reason or purpose of that, I think they got
it from the way the plaster skim coat is applied on the drywall."
- and later -
"but then when the surface starts to get wetted out, it goes on Pretty
smooth."\
Have I made my point?

I'm sending this as a backup to a message in the Rotax list. I have
wired the ignition wires, grounded the coaxial braid right at the engine
block
adjacent to the modules, through BNC coax connectors at the firewall and
to BNCs at the alum boxes which house the switches. All this, as a result
of having chased breakthrough from ignition noise for the last thirty years.
Neither my switches or their boxes are grounded anywhere but at the one
site above , i.e: they are 'floating', as is the panel they're on.
HOWEVER, if one examines the electrical diagram, page 75 in the
Installation manual, the coax is shown grounded near the switches, rather
than down near the modules, the boxes are grounded elsewhere (wrong)
as are the switches.
I write this to affirm in my own mind that the coax around the
ignition
lines are grounded ONLY at the engine block nearby, if noise is to be
reduced. This comes from chasing ignition noise since 1963.

Mike, my factory XS trailer for the extended tailwheel measures 15 ft 1 inch
for the dimension you asked for. It is a bit short and caused me to have
to mount a winch partway over the hitch in order to have adequate lengh.

I have not yet wetted the target area with any epoxy but relied on some
coming out otf the mixed filler. It has always stuck.
JR (Bob) Gowing UK Kit 327 in Oz and trying to shape up the filler on the
wings.

If one was to look for an agricultural property to set up a strip on, what
is the minimum practical and safe turf runway length (assuming 50ft obst
clearance) for an XS with 912S at factory spec'd Gross weight near sea level
on a standard day? 1500ft? 2000ft? longer?

I think 2000 would be okay. I am usually airborne at 600=2C but you need ex
tra just in case.
I recently attempted to take off with my brakes on. I did get airborne=2C b
ut it didn't feel right and I aborted okay within our 2300 foot strip.
