Subject: | Taildragger version |
Hello everyone, this is my first post.
=C2-
i am considering buying a built Europa, it ticks many of my boxes. Anyone h
ave any experience with the taildragger version (not the monowheel), but a
standard 3 point configuration.
I understand its approved in the UK?
=C2-
Does it make the aircraft even more short field capable? Any other differen
ces?
thank you
roger

I have a Europa XS Taildragger. It is for sale. I can give you plenty
of feedback. I am very happy with it now that I have learned how to
land it so smoothly.

Craig
There seems to be a big difference here.
My wings measure from the inboard rip to the first hole in the spars to Port 104mm
and the Starboard to 106mm
The reply from Andy through Roger was It is OK to cut the w26 block to fit, but
the exposed material must be treated to protect it
I will install the wings now so I can proceed, and I could come back to this problem
later. I was thinking of putting an extra flat plate on the inside and have
some longer pins made. Something to what you have set up.
Thank you for the pictures.

The tail dragger using the "swiss" mod is approved by the LAA in the UK as
"This aircraft only". This means that you will not obtain permission to
start an new one. You can buy a second hand aircraft (incomplete or
flying).
Their are other tail dragger conversions (the Flyer version and the US (Bob
Berude)). The Flyer version might fly one day but when is unknown. The US
version is unlikely to be submitted to UK approval due to the costs and work
involved.

Roger,
I am in the USA and am building the Bob Berube version. I am not flying yet
but have heard a lot of good things about it. I've attached a pix of mine
during the build.
