Hi Folks,
There is a Wessex strut fly-in to Henstridge tomorrow ( Easter
Sunday). I hope to make it and it would be good to see any other
DOTHers ( or anyone else ) there.
Cheers, Paddy

Hi.
At 9 o clock this morning I received a phone call from Robin James
asking for assistance to recover his Europa from France.
Last weekend Robin flew to EDNY FRIEDRICHSHAFEN , on his way home he met
bad weather and left his Europa at LFFN BRIENNE LE CHATEAU which is
approx 20miles NE of Troyes he came home by rail and is asking if anyone
can assist by flying him to France to recover the plane.
He is based at Shobdon and tells me that the weather tomorrow, Sunday,
is the best chance for some time to fly down to recover the plane. He
has been unable to find anyone at Shobdon able to assist tomorrow. David
Corbett has family commitments tomorrow and I have visitors from Italy
this weekend.
Can anyone assist Robin ? he can be reached on 07801018263.

Phil
this might give you an idea, never a problem imho. The unmodified flap
will still cause a large vortex anyway

Hi Graham...Justin Kennedy is, hopefully today, completing some flight
tests with G-ZTED which is equipped with some substantial wingroot
fairings (designed by Justin) which are similar to mine. When Justin
has his data organized, it will be posted. I will say now however,
that last week Justin performed some tests at high AOAs w/ flaps and
gear down specifically to explore the area of Phil's concern and found
no untoward behavior.
Justin's flights scheduled for today are to follow some flight
profiles suggested by David Joyce which should, when compared with
results when flown with a similarly equipped Europa but with the stock
wingroot fairings, may give some indication as to how the special
fairings increase flight efficiencies and enhance L/D ratios.
In addition to Justin's flight testing, Jeff Behrnes will soon be
doing some flight tests with his XS trigear, Baby Blue, both with, and
without, the fairings which I have made.
Stay tuned.
