Jacques, Yes, it is similar. I think I actually used the hose on page 248 P/N 52515K22. I used the same hose, larger diameter for the oil return from the bottom of the Rotax to the oil tank. I'll dig thru the old receipts today and get you the P/N. Jim Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=245373#245373

Hi Jim When you used McMaster hose, I imagine you used the american fittings they sell. Did you do anything special when you screwed them into the metric pipe threads? Sealant? Retapped? Thx. Ron Parigoris Visit - www.EuropaOwners.org

Hi Ron, We also used American fittings to allow the use of stainless braided brake lines from Summit Racing. We used an American standards pipe thread tap to clean out the threads on the master and slave cylinders, making sure not to get shavings into the parts. This has been very reliable for 8 years now. 2 different coloured wires leave the engine to connect with the tacho gauge. Does it matter which goes where? The rotax manual doesn't mention it. Thanks Mike Gamble xs mono

Hi Folks, They say the weather is getting better again toward the end of the week, so Friday seems like a good day for a DOTH. There don't appear to be any suitable freebies. I've been looking for somewhere we haven't done ( at least recently ), and come up with Nottingham Apparently the cafe should be open - I've not been there before, so can't offer any other comments. 1200ish. Cheers, Paddy Paddy Clarke Europa G-KIMM

Thought I'd better warn fellow Europa owners of an incident that occurred yesterday with G-MFHI. A couple of weeks ago, we replaced the sort sections of 1 inch fuel hose that clamp onto the fuel tank outlets. When pre flight checking the aeroplane yesterday, I could smell fuel but couldnt see anything untoward by the time the ground crew had come over to pull it out, fuel was pouring from the underside of the aeroplane at the rate of about 3 or 4 litres a minute! Once drained, I checked the hoses and found that one had almost completely failed and the other was well on the way. The hose had swollen and delaminated. It had swollen so much that the hose clip had completely cut its way through the outer wall of the hose. We had operated the aeroplane on Mogas without incident with the same make and type of hose for over 4 years so can only suspect a defective batch of hose may have made its way into the supply chain. Europa are looking into it but, thought Id better let fellow owners know just in case anyone else has recently changed these hose sections. I've seen the same thing in older fuel tank outlet connecting hoses when the outer got wet with Mogas coming from a leak elsewhere; I guess that the outer covering of the tube is made from a different and non-resistant compound than the inner liner. After drying out, normal service was resumed. The same thing happens with many fuel hoses. Subject: Overhauling Mono swing arm dampers
    From: Paul McAllister <paul.the.aviator@gmail.com>
Hi all, I recently replaced the swing arm dampers on my monowheel. The aircraft has accumulated about 800 hours over 4.5 hours and although they didn't seem to need replacing, it just seemed like it was easier to do this while the engine was off and the aircraft was a part. I was wondering if anyone has looked into sending these back to Hagon for re valving, or is this impractical / uneconomical ? Regards, Paul

Hi Paddy Now if you looking for a new destination, try this one. http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/flying_into_east_kirkby.cfm. It is not very often we get a brand new airstrip to go to. It is quite near to Nottingham, just under the Coningsby stub. I went there a couple of weeks ago in my newly acquired monowheel. (Lovely plane bought from Bryan ) Delightful. There is a Lancaster bomber. Spent 30 minutes inside her, brilliant. Even a NAAFI serving nosh Oh and to hear the 4 Merlins....... Sadly cannot make Friday as I have to keep the economy going and only seem to get away at week-ends Enjoy Regards Bob Hitchcock GBYSA ----- Original Message ----- From: Paddy Clarke To: europa-list@matronics.com Sent: Tuesday, May 26, 2009 9:50 PM Subject: Europa-List: DOTH Fri.29th Nottingham Hi Folks, They say the weather is getting better again toward the end of the week, so Friday seems like a good day for a DOTH.
