The suggestions of putting a 200ohm resistor across the tacho pick up worked a
treat for me. I wasn't sure about soldering down by the engine so I just put
the resistor across the terminals of the actual tacho itself - hey presto.
There is an atricle on trouble shooting the tacho on Rotax owners site. I've
tried to attach it here don't know if the list will strip it off.

      regards

      Hi group.

Figured I would share a potential rudder failure.

After completing rudder cable install, descided to challenge rudder control.

Challenge didn't get too far before had a genuine failure on hand.

The turnbuckle easily got tangled with thimble when rudder pedal was pulled aft
against the rudder pedal return spring.

This would still allow full travel to be achieved on the side that got tangled,
but would limit travel on the other side because the tangled side would stop
      out aft by pedals.

Resolution is 2 layers of heat shrink tube.

      Frans,
I agree with you that Jason's website is a little on the un-organized side but
I can personally vouch for the fact that he will answer ANY question you email
him quite enthusiastically. So if you find you have more questions about this
engine don't hesitate to email him, he is happy to talk about this engine.

I am currently in the decision phase of what my next aircraft should be and have
narrowed the field down to about five. Two of which are Rotax powered and you
can bet I will be using one of these engines if I decide to go that route.
      Cheers,
      Randy
