Hi Bud, Sorry to correct you Bud, it is just the opposite. As the name implies, the wastegate is a gate to the waste. When the gate is open, most of the exhaust gases flow directly to the muffler and are wasted. When the gate is closed, all exhaust gases flow to the turbine. I agree this does not help solving any turbo problem, but using the right wording would avoid adding some confusion. Best regards Remi Guerner <<<<<<<As for the Turbo. If the waste gate sticks closed you would see it in low MP. If stuck open you will see an overboost (not good). >>>>>>>

Hi all - I and my syndicate partner are new owners based UK. This question for the group is directed towards UK Europa operators, however other folks based elsewhere in Europe might have opinion. Q. is Differences Training a mandatory or legal requirement for operating this aircraft under UK Permit / CAA/JAR PPL? Specifically, pertaining to monowheel / retract and CS prop. We DO NOT question the clear importance of full and correct conversion training / LAA coaching scheme etc etc, but wish to understand any official requirement. It happens we are both tailwheel and glider pilots, so the process should, we hope and anticipate, be smooth! Paperwork is often another matter. Unless you have flown a retractable aircraft and an aircraft with a VP prop (can be two different aircraft) under the old CAA licence system you will need an instructor sign off under the EASA system. The same applies to turbo/supercharged engines. The details should be in LASORS. Subject: Fw: Europa 4-seater
Hi (all those who like flying with a good company!) I am happy to let you know we had today "Europa 4-seater flight". That has been my dream since I started building 1999. Actually, there were my daughters Tuuli 8 years and Merete 5 years. Me and my wife omboard with full thank TOW was 656 kgs (1443 lbs). My MTOW is 658 kgs (1450 lbs). Our CofG was well between limits (almost center because added Airmaster prop hub 7 kgs (15,4 lbs)). Everything went WELL and there were not any problems. Children had fun - Europa is a real family machine! I am going to have a 4-place intercom next. My Europa will be permitted (in this country) for 4-seater (actually 2+2), max 60 kgs (132 lbs) on the back seat (with certified seat belts). So, Europa XS is almost like that French fun machine Dyn Aero=B4s 4s... Raimo OH-XRT

When I push the trhottle lever one cable make a loop into the box. I lubricate the cable into his housing, but few time ago the cable start again to a loop. I take the decision to install stainless steel piano wire diameter 1.5mm. Now it is perfect reliable and no expensive. -- --|-- --------(*)-------- Michel AUVRAY mau11@free.fr
