Are you talking about the metal end sockets, or the plastic ones? The
plastic ones I received with my kit were never strong to begin with, but
time and heat have deformed them enough to allow the ball to pop out
      without any effort.
If the new plastic ones have a clip then that would suit my needs too,
otherwise I will just go for the metal ones.

      Frans,
Yoy may find that the metal ones do not fit onto the "old" type of gas
strut. I had this problem having bought metal ball ends.
I eventually used a small piece of locking wire, twisted around the plastic
socket end and the ball, which prevents the ball and socket from
disengaging. My "old" struts and balls are still in use and working fine
      with this fix.

      Hi All,

I see in the manual that you're supposed to replace the existing handle on the
monowheel brake with a LG13, which didn't find its way into my kit. Anyone know
      the dimensions of this item?

Dan - the crucial dimensions are at the bottom end, where you need to
make the hole sizes, and their relationships to the edges and end of
the lever, the same as the original short supplied lever.

The top end can be (within reason) as long as you like, to get a good
grip on it. Don't make the lower handle-securing hole so low that it
fouls the top of the tunnel.

I can't get at mine easily to measure it as it's attached to the
reservoir, and hidden inside a turned mahogany handle (which also
      extends it slightly).

Attached is a picture of the new lever before the handle was fitted
to it. Sorry, I don't seem to have a picture of both levers for
      comparison.

      regards

      Hi Rowland,

This looks like I imagined it. The original is 7" so if I add about 4" I'm sure
to be good. Thanks for taking time to reply.

      All the best,

      Dan,
      I think I have a spare LG13 from a conversion, although I usually make
      my own.
      I'll look.
Let me know if you are interested. Pay for postage.

      The original LG13 lever is 6 7/8 x 3/4 (175mm x 19mm).

Thanks all for the responses. I found some stock laying around and made one up.
Works great and I was able to continue with the brake install without stopping.
Made for a nice father's day, beatin' things into shape.

      Thanks again,
