Seems that at fluid sealant will be the way to go. I only have max. allowed torque for the flow sensor into which the 1/4" NPT AN fitting will go (25 ft.lbs.), not the recommended torque for the AN fitting itself. Apologize for expressing myself differently. Regards, Svein >Incidentally what are the recommended torques for 1/8" & 1/4" NPT, >and where did you find a reference to them? ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 01:26:48 AM PST US From: "Kingsley Hurst" Subject: Re: Europa-List: First flight ZK-MEE Congratulations Keith and what a fine specimen it appears to be. Very nice indeed. Now what is that green stuff on which you have parked the aircraft? We haven't got any of that over here. What a blast being able to take-off on beautiful grass like that!! I'm sure you will have many hours of enjoyment ahead - Say, who is going to be the first to fly a Europa across the Tasman? Now you need some "places visited" stickers in the decor ! Like we just did France,Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Majorca, ...home........We'll settle for townships on North and South Island NZ for starters ! I also have the larger fuel system access hatch thanks to Russell. But all you guys on this thread are still quoting up a storm. Please be considerate and stop this practice. In this day and age, Nobody needs massive, or even ANY quoting! Quoting is just a total was of bandwidth Just use the Matronics forum web site and forget the crappy old EMail interface forums.matronics.com Thanks, Ira (Flying in AZ, not WI this week) -------- Ira N224XS Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=254779#254779 ________________________________ Message 6 _____________________________________ Time: 06:07:30 AM PST US Subject: Europa-List: Re: AW: NPT threads From: "rampil" Hi Svein, Never use teflon tape in the Fuel system. The reason is that tape shreds and those shreds can get into the fuel stream and clog your carb, especially if the particular fitting is downstream from filters. Use instead PTFE Pipe compound as suggested. it is a paste available at places like Home Depot or plumbing shops. Good Luck, Ira -------- Ira N224XS Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=254780#254780 ________________________________ Message 7 _____________________________________ Time: 08:54:55 AM PST US From: "Michael Grass" Subject: Europa-List: OSH Spreadsheet Rick, all Don't know what happened here but try it again. Attached is the spreadsheet with some more additions Also I like to suggest that we try to meet at , lets say each day at 12PM local time at the Home-built Headquarters, just south of the north (Experimental) Aircraft display near the flight line. Hope to see you all at KOSH Michael Grass PS: Ira and Ferg The truncated "quote" below at an old 1200 baud telephone modem connection which is on of the first modems around the 1992 area would eat up another long 1 second (about 120 characters per second). It is the attachments what would eat up bandwidth. Not a couple lines of plain text. This line also ate another second away which I apologize for already in advance. Sorry, could not help to comment. It is used widely in many high performance applications. You can find information and suppliers with a Google search for "Hylomar" or "Permatex Hylomar". You need the 'Universal Blue' product. For clean up, you can use methylene chloride. I do not recommend that you use Teflon tape. This product is forbidden in the petro-chemical industry after catastrophic plant failures have been traced back to small pieces of tape which have blocked critical control instrumentation orifices.
