Just press the button and the servo will reset it self, Never needed to use it so far :-) regards Ivor > Is it me? > In aligning the switches and allowing for spares etc., I came across > an admonition to interrupt the wires #14 & #2 'twixt turbo motor and control > box with an ON/OFF switch. ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 02:29:21 AM PST US From: Paddy Clarke Subject: Europa-List: DOTH Shobdon Thu.30th Hi Folks, Time for a DOTH. It probably had Plexi panels... Perhaps we should ask them what THEY used? Not that you have a life beyond building the Europa. Check the new on line rotax site and get the latest manual. I prefer a momentary mini toggle switch without guard. Don't use a clunk on and off one as a momentary push stops the cycling of the servo motor. I use an led yellow and red with the switch next to it as my standard. Other changes are the fuel pump notes and very often missed is having a secondary power source for the aux boost pump. I have used a second battery, off the alternator feed as recommended by rotax and off a battery emergency bus. Of course you can be the office of redundant redundancy and what if what you want. Keep your fuel filters clean and keep building. Flying is more fun when you know the plane is done right.... In aligning the switches and allowing for spares etc., I came across an admonition to interrupt the wires #14 & #2 'twixt turbo motor and control box with an ON/OFF switch. It is not provided but allows for a shut-off of the automatic adjustment of the gate in case it goes wild.... I went through the Europa installation book of words and found no mention of same, but the Rotax install manual brings it up in one small sentence. I missed that. Then I began to read back, and found the MAIN 914F manual page 213/ 1997/02/01- the harness chart - and no interruptor switch there either, but it's on the electrical circuit diagram on Installation page 74(? - I'm away from paper). Obviously I used the wrong source from time to time and neglected the pursuant pages when setting up. The 'structions say a guarded or protected switch is needed. Just a precaution.......... Your sense of humor never ceases to amaze :-) Ask a lifetime worker at McDonalds what he eats, or Dunkin' Donuts, or a meat slaughterer/canner, or anyone who has been exposed to a business/product all their lives. I think the answer would invariably be the same..or close!!! Kinda the same reason why roofers own houses that have crappy roofs, and auto mechanics have old dumpy cars that don't run well, and pilots: (well, we won't go there). :-) Over and out!
