Hi Alex,
If you Google "Linear actuators" I suspect that you will find a lot of
suitable replacements. Take a look at http://www.firgelliauto.com/

Well, Airventure 2009 was a great event. We had a total of four Europa'
s at the event and a dozen or so builders attended. The weather was won
derful and the company supurb.
Our very own Martin Mavers, who flew into Oshkosh in the A380, seems to
be quite the celebrity. I have attached a link to the tour he conducted
for the cameras. Nicely done!
http://www.aopa.org/oshkosh/oshkosh09/articles/090801a380.html
I will try and post some photos from the event on the Europa Owners and
Builders site later this week.
Regards,
Erich

Hi Karl,
Richard's description is correct. I have had a successful installation
with this arrangement of a single flowmeter since 2002. My flowmeter is
the fuel flow option for a Grand Rapids EIS display. Very accurate -
usually within 0.1 gal. when I top up. I found that it is important to
have a flow damper. If you do not have this, your indicated flow rate
may be erratic and you will have poor accuracy. Matronics sells a damper
for $47.00 - see http://www.matronics.com/fuelchec/dampener.html.

There is a solution using one transponder.
Re-arrange things so that the fuel comes out of the
mechanical fuel pump, to a high point from where the
return feed to the tank is taken, then put in the
transponder and then split the line to each of the carbs.
The tank return must be the highest point in the whole
fuel system.
Ergo. One transponder measuring exactly the fuel flow INTO
the carbs.
I know this can be done as it is how the factory built
Sport Cruiser is set up. I have seen under the cowling of
their demonstrator !
I failed to take a photo but I assure you that was how it
was set up. (Don't ask me how I got to see under the hood
on a SC !)
The transponder requirement is 100mm straight line hose
before it and 50mm after it so a total (including the
transponder) of around 225 mm. Easily found !

Having fitted things as per the book I find I have a 1 to 1.5'' gap
between the rads and the lower cowling. Do I need to block this off thus
directing all the airflow through the rad then the oil cooler or should
I wait and see how the temps read in flight first?
I would be interested to have reports from those currently flying.
Thanks

Mike,
Take my word for it... Block it off. All of it! If I had mine to do
over I'd cut the whole dog box off and re-do the intake. Just cant talk
myself into a cowl re-paint in the middle of the flying season. Maybe
this winter.
Someone shared a drawing with us on the new cowl a few months back. The
cowl had a lower and further back intake closer to the radiators..

Mike and all,
A correct cooling duct must have a carefully curved shape an NO air leak
whatsoever.

Hi Jean-Philippe
Good luck with your weld job.
Looking at your picture you attached, it appears like there may still be
a crack shooting off to the left at the bottom of the "Y" weld
bead.

Thank you Paul,
I just do not know enough technical specs about the original system to decide on
a different actuator. I could not find anywhere the spec's of the original motor
and actuator. I emailed Motion System and we are in touch but not much further.
I was also wondering if somebody has the brand and spec's of the new actuator
that EUROPA ships now. I had a look at the builder's manual but all I have
is a picture without spec's. See the attachment. Anyone and idea what they
ship and what is written on the engraving plate?
