My existing trailer wing cradle / slings (the original rubber straps) are n
ow perished and cracked and need replacing. I have already lined the origi
nals with a thin carpet material to stop chafing and rubbing of the leading
edge and wing surfaces.
What do people advise? A like-for-like replacement or is there a better al
ternative out there to use that is strong=2C flexible and does not chafe=2C
rub or mark the wings in any way?
Thanks

Hi folks. We are just starting to troubleshoot a stiff choke actuator - thinking
the panel might need to be removed. Anyone have any pointers to the root cause
of binding with this control, and a likely fix?
Oh, and our parking brake control is also rather stiff ....:-(

Subject: | Tie bar off center |
Dear all
Having followed instructions for the drilling of the wing tie bar (which
join the attachment points) I found on taking off the plates that on
hole is 1/32 off center and the other is about 1/16 off center.
Apart from being really pissed at myself for committing such a basic
error ...what is the general opinion? How much does this matter?

Hi! Sean
Best thing is some conveyor belting which has some plys of fabric in it.
Then line it with carpet. Speak to some food machinery repair outfit they
should either have a new length or some scrap belting.
Regards

Glenn,
My choke is stiff, I tried to loosen it up by oiling and re-routing
the cable, but it did not make any appreciable difference.
I actually prefer it that way as I do not have to hold it open when
starting, gives me a free hand for the brakes.

Graham,
The camera really is excellent. The only problem I see is that the
diameter(0.55in) is too large to go through the 914 plug hole. Other than
that it is a really good piece of kit.

Mike

the original strps were probably made from wet suit material. you can buy t
hat material from any shop that sells these suits to divers.

Are you doing Mod 74? Or are your doing the standard XS (Mod 52) tie bar
installation?

Craig,
Now that I'm use to flying / Taxing my tri-gear I have trouble even
thinking of foot brakes. You will get use to anything in a while and
this is no exception. I can run my brakes and run the throttle all with
the right hand. I can't imagine doing it any other way and I grew up
like most in a 152 then Cherokee.
Put in the brakes. It's a non issue.

Subject: | Re: Finger brakes / ground handling |
Craig Hi!
As per Jeff's comments. It becomes second nature to use finger brakes.
Ensure levers are long enough and keep speed to a good walking pace to taxi. Use
Rudder too. They become quite accurate to use and control and I found them easy
to use doing a short field landing. Juggling with throttle also seems to work
out after a few goes.

Gerry
