    Subject: Mode S
As previously mentioned, I have been out of the country for most of this year. To save me wading through vast reams of information, can anyone tell me in a nutshell, what is the state of play regarding Mode S in the UK? From what I can find on the web it seems that we may have until 2012 to upgrade but may have to complete a form to gain exemption until that date. Am I correct? Richard Iddon G-RIXS

Hi! Richard. Since there seems to be "no takers" to your question I'm replying ......not that I can answer your query .......I believe you are correct but being quick to spend my hard earnt cash I did mine mostly because fitting it was destined to be a bloody battle so not wanting to interfere with the flying season I did it last winter only to find out that the delay had been put through. Nevertheless I do believe there are some ATC space restrictions without Mode S.and passing Amsterdam with it fitted you need to turn it off ! Having gone through the hoop I've never bothered to clutter my head with the regulations with only Mode C.! Regards and merry Christmas to you and yours Bob Harrison. ----Original Message---- From: riddon@sent.com Subj: Europa-List: Mode S Clean Clean DocumentEmail 2.85 pt 2 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 st1\:*{behavior:url(#default#ieooui) } As previously mentioned, I have been out of the country for most of this year. Hi William, No - not mentioned. But assuming that stresses add up I would personally try to apply some relief as Ron Parigoris did. And maybe avoid opportunities for parking on hot asphalt when there is a choice.
