Subject: Europa-List: Is it possible to register for VAT
Is it possible to register for VAT and then de-register soonafter? I
have set up a website and would love to get my VAT on the build costs
back. Trouble is, I don't want to have to charge VAT going forward so
would want to deregister. Is this allowed?

Not sure who is asking the questions but;
But Kingsley Hurst and I bought the latest (then V5) chips and already prog
rammed by him from Tony Krzyszewski about a year ago, bought the reqd elec
tronic parts and have only recently found someone electronic to assemble th
e bits in accord with Tony's diagram.
We are expecting it to work well as it has for others preceding us.

The answer is no !
The tax man has thought of this !
When you de-register he will ask for a calculation of the
VAT re-imbursed on your assets and will want all that VAT
back ! The tax man would be particularly upset if he
thought you had done this specifically to avoid tax.
Otherwise EVERYONE would be doing it !
How about finding a small trader who doesn't charge VAT as
HE isn't registered and then get him to build your web-site !

Subject: | Monowheel tunnel dimensions? |
Good evening,
I would like to ask a question regarding floor clearance in the (XS)
monowheel tunnel from the front of the tank back to the inboard bagage
bay supports.
How low does the flap drive rod go at most? How low does the flap cross
tube go at most?
My tentative estimate (after wielding the rod on the upside down cockpit
module and drawing lines on pictures) is 6 cm from the floor for the rod
and 4 cm from the floor for the cross tube - gear down / worst case.
I would be grateful for more knowledgable estimates from any of you who
have an installed monowheel flap drive.
I am hoping for at least 36 mm head room between the rudder cables.
But if you have other news that is ofcourse welcome too.
The reason I ask is that I am thinking of making a 5052-0 fuel tubing
harness - firewall to port bagage bay and intended for permanent
installation - while still having the cockpit module upside down. The
idea is to shape it now and put it in place later - the front section
glassed inside the wheel well under the break cylinder, the rear section
slid under the tunnel from the rear (with 2 clamp stands to be bonded to
the floor to immobilise). Three connections to be made in the fuel valve
area.
Thank you,
Jan de Jong

I think quite a few of the mono builders are opting for the trike flap
drive, have you considered
this and eliminate the rod totally.
regards and happy new year
