Hi Craig, No, I hadn't considered it and after the interchange re Monowheel Flap Operation I think I will stick with the build manual. I will go ahead with expecting 4 cm clearance as nobody on the list appears inclined to offer a fact or an opinion. It also makes a funny noise sometimes whilst I am trying to start it, like a ratchet. Any tips to aid starting or ideas what the noise might be appreciated. Happy New Year to all. Richard Iddon. Fully charged is 13.2 volts and with my 914, anything less than about 12.5 volts and the ignition won't fire. Try hooking up a battery trickle charger for a half hour or so, then crank while the charger is connected and turned on. My cold start procedure is to turn on the electric fuel pump for about 15 seconds, then turn off. Hold the throttle fully against its idle stop while fully engaging the choke. As the engine starts to fire, slowly push the choke in. Don't touch the throttle until the engine is running smoothly. Hope this helps. I just ran mine to the full flap position, and the clearance from the floor, at the bottom of the bend in the flap drive tube is 35mm, given the hardware is the same, other than the method of actuation, you should be alright if you aim for a height of 30mm max for the lines. the rudder cables (almost missed this in your first post) at that point are 50mm off the floor. I have a variation on the singelton tail wheel mod, with the bell crank mounted on the rear bulkhead and a pushrod from there to the rudder, which lifts the cables up about 30mm at the tail, which given the arm would be about 5mm at the flap drive tube. If you intend to stay with the original rudder setup your estimate of 36mm would be safe, if a little conservative. As far as possible I would suggest fitting AS MUCH stuff as you can, including the fuel line you mentioned, before you install the CM, any time spent here will pay you back 10 fold later, also when you run the lines up to the firewall be careful not to encroach on the rudder cable path. If you measure up (CM up the correct way for you to install in the A/C) 150mm from the bottom where it contacts the floor at the firewall, that is where the cables will be when finally installed and run a line from there to the rudder pulleys under the seats. Keep than path clear for the rudder cables and you will be ok. If you have any further questions feel free to ask, keeping in mind I am building a trike so some of my mods (gascolators in tunnel, fuel selector on top of tunnel) will not be an option for you. happy new year craig PS do you know a Yep de Jong, he was a merchant seaman now lives in the US in Mankato? -----Original Message----- From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of Jan de Jong Sent: Thursday, December 31, 2009 10:36 PM Subject: Re: Europa-List: Monowheel tunnel dimensions?
