Hi, I think that the photograph is one I took of my monowheel brake installation. The hose actually came from France but is readily available from a good hydraulic parts merchant in the UK, as is the banjo coupling. Mike, You wouldn't happen to have the specs for that fitting would you? I'm working on my brakes and that fitting would be perfect. Michel, The hose came from MDO Aircraft when I bought their stick mounted hand brake caliper. (See attachment) I think M. Bastien of MDO Aircraft is based in Biarritz. I do know that some of our colleagues on this site have had trouble contacting him. A French person in France may have better luck. Bob, I=99ll see if I can find the details of the banjo fitting. I might have to go back to the shop on Monday. Regards, Mike. Do not Archive

Mike Parkin a crit : > *I think M. Bastien of MDO Aircraft is based in Biarritz. I do know > that some of our colleagues on this site have had trouble contacting > him. A French person in France may have better luck.* Mike and all, Although I've never met Mr Bastien, I've had the opportunity to ring him about his master cylinder. I get the impression that communication with potential customers would be better if their initial message was in French, so if some of you gentlemen were kind enough to provide an example message, I'd be happy to translate it into French to help facilitate contact with Mr Bastien. Like with many of my fellow countrymen, the response to a message in French might prove considerably quicker. Best regards, -- Gilles http://contrails.free.fr > ** > > * * >

Mike & Michel, I'm in the process of converting to the stick mounted hand brake from MDO. The control column mounted master cylinder is beautifully made. Unfortunately, M. Bastien provided a caliper fitting that consisted of an AN9186 Nipple (Flared Tube to Pipe Thread) to replace the existing 90 degree fitting and then put a 90 degree AN hose end fitting on the end of the hose. See pic: The AN fitting is NPT (National Pipe Thread), which is a tapered thread. The 90 degree fitting that came off the caliper was a straight thread so the AN fitting only goes in about 2 threads and quits. That's not really acceptable. A banjo hose end like yours, Mike, would be perfect but I can't find one over here on this side of the pond. Tomorrow, I'll be posting more pics on my build site showing how the hose end of the banjo should be configured as it's not a (U.S.) typical 37 degree AN type fitting. If there's anyone out there in Europe or the U.K. that can find the correct fitting, I'd sure be glad to pay for it as well as postage to send it to me. Thanks in advance! Hi Bob, You can tap it to pipe thread, as I did after talking to Terry and Dave (N135TD). You cut the tip of tap off so it won't bottom out. So you are cutting the top part of the threads wider to accept "our" pipe thread. But the banjo fitting looks very nice too...
