Hi! Steven I posted an item on this a while ago. This type of extinguisher is not likely to have the harmful gas in it and is therefore cleared from the CAA edict. However the manufacturers did say it should be services and will be considered obsolete at 10 years!. =85.I=92m =93 sailing on regrdles=94 Regards Bob Harrison. _____ From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Steven Pitt Sent: 29 April 2010 18:11 Subject: Europa-List: Fire extinguishers What fire extinguisher are uk Europa owners using? I have been carrying a Halon BCF from LAS for the last 5 years but am concerned that it may be one of the items that the CAA says needs to be replaced. LAS only sell 1.5kg products at =A3250 plus. Advise requested please. Steve Pitt G-SMDH

The BMW F650 is actualy powered by a single cylinder Rotax engine, other bi ke builders using Rotax engines are Aprillia, with the 1000 cc v twin Falco and Mille, also their two stroke 125 and 250. so if a dealer is near its w orth comparing parts. The current FAA Nuts and Bolts Newsletter has an interesting article about corrosion in a Bing carb on a Jabiru 3300 experimental aircraft (possibly a Sonex) leading to an accident. https://www.faasafety.gov/files/notices/2010/Apr/10-01%5B1%5D.pdf (see p. 5). There are some good thoughts Re conditional inspections on Bing carbs. I cut a pasted this from the Jabiru engine web page. Ferg, I received the instructions from Kingsley Hurst and am just getting into the middle of the mod. Kingsley adapted the system from Ted Gladstone's procedure. I have made the two pairs of lever arms and am determining the best positions for the 4 pivot points for fit and to optimize the full open position and the lifting pressure. Have you done the mod or considering it? Bill McClellan
