Does anybody know where I can purchase an airvent such as the attached
please. This vent has louvres which can be closed to shut off the airflow
and when open they can be rotated to direct the air in any direction.
All I know is that they are made by Prima in Italy but all my searching for
it on the list has so far been in vain.
Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

Gidday,
As I do not have engines, props, spinners on yet, I was wondering if someone with
a finished a/c could clarify for me the overall length of the a/c from spinner
to tailwheel, and from spinner to the aftmost point on the fin? I'm interested
in seeing if my desire to get my Europa, in time, into a 20' container for
overseas flying. To that end I have flirted with the idea of making the rudder
drive mechanism "quick release", so that with minimum effort I can shorten
the a/c's overall length. My intention would be to attempt to design a trailer
that would have a foldable gooseneck, the structure that the towing cup is connected
to, so that I can increase the length of the trailer once offloaded. Any
help or advice much appreciated.

Yes, it was me who suggested the use of MDS-filled nylon material from McMaster-Carr.
I did some research during the selection process and if I remember correctly
the MDS-filled nylon had the same or better flexural strength, better UV
protection and slightly better impact strength. I have had my legs in service
for just over seven years without issue. I too am using inline scooter wheels
with a slimmed down mounting fork. I will take a picture and post it.

Re: wheels...I'm not familiar w/ "Easy-Rolls", but the 100 or 105 mm
skate (or scooter) wheels spin silently forever...be advised that when
buying them you will enter the world of ABEC ratings for various
bearings...I opted for #9s but you can go for the ceramics for a few
more bucks...I bought my inline wheels online at www.skates.com,,,bushes
are also available to enable fitting within the SS forks.

Related comment: From Kevin's drawing, he's apparently mastered the
art of machining the factory-stock nylon rod...I had a devil of a time
turning down my rods so that they might fit into the OR 1s.
I am fortunate to have a friend close by with a lathe and a milling
machine in his garage. He made the drawing and turned the rod into the
part drawn. I plan to get with him on drawing up new slim forks for the
skate wheels to go with the 5/8" fiberglass legs.

Hi Tony,
I considered using a 20' container as an affordable "hanger" at my second
home in Alaska and so measured the length of my mono. I remember that it
would fit, but I don't remember what the actual length was. I think your
plan will work!

Hi Erich,
What materials did you use to make your scooter wheel forks? I just got some
.080 4130 steel sheet for a first try on the forks and .058 wall 3/4" (which
is 5/8"ID) 4130 tube for the outrigger leg socket.
Looking forward to seeing a picture, too.
And I'm glad to hear that the MDS-filled nylon legs are serving you well. I
thought I remembered that the MDS-filled nylon had lower friction
properties, but was not any stronger. I'll see if I can find that info
again.
Did you ever break a Nylon 6/6 leg?

Tony,
I have an XS in a conventional gear configuration and a Jab 3300 with the
associated FWF kit. With that in mind, I measured furthest portion of the
tailwheel to the tip of the spinner measured 18 ft 10 inches. And from th
e furthest portion of the rudder to the tip of the spinner measured 19 ft
8 1/4 inches.
I guess you could remove the spinner and rudder to get some extra room for
shifting. Good luck.
