I have set mine to 20.0 and 19.5 respectively with coarse being 28.0,
If you set the fine pitch to give you 5200 rpm static that should put you in
the ball park,

Hi Carl,
There were scimitar blades on mine.
The prop had been repaired at the factory, and arrived assembled.
I never checked the fine pitch again, which nearly cost me my life,
because it must have been too fine to stay airborne.
So once more, please be very careful and never fly in rain with one of
those, because that too fine pitch, combined with a short circuiting
microswitch will bite you.
Apart of mine, in the small circle i am aware of, i know of 2 cases of
shorting microswitches, one loose gearwheel on the motor (rendering the
blades to roam on their own.) and now pitch inaccuracy confirmed.
Wish you luck, you will need it!

Just to be clear to those folks Bud is speaking of:
A pilot with a GLIDER rating with a SELF-LAUNCH endorsement
can fly the Europa Motor Glider as a powered aircraft as follows:
No LSA Speed Limit (135kts vs 120)
No LSA Weight Limit (1450#)
No Stall speed Limit
Full Night privileges (with lights)
Full IFR privileges (if so rated and equipped)
NO MEDICAL CERTIFICATION of ANY KIND
NO issue with prior FAILED Medical Certification
Why would any US Pilot care to convert a Europa MG to the restrictions of
LSA?

Someone without a 47 foot wide hanger I guess. The short tips on Homers
419PL are about 41 feet, and his hangar is 40. He goes in sideways on a
trolley.

Good day,
Perhaps I need a logic translator to prescribe the directions I read
from the following: (legal ramifications are NOT involved here)
In the Rotax 914 series Installation Manual sits a table on page
48/01JUL'08, above which the following text is set:
"Depending on the achieved maximum values of the cylinder head temperature
and the coolant temperature following action are necessary."
The table then exhibits 'maximum values for Coolant temperature and cylinder
head temperature', under which for certain values the corrective action is
"Additional instruments for displaying coolant temperature is necessary...."
Am I wrong or do I need to install a coolant temperature sensor to
see if I need to install a coolant temperature sensor?
I'm sorry to disturb otherwise normal activity to address this logic twist,
but I would appreciate any response applicable......

We have a 39 foot hanger and a 47 foot MG (some of the time). My
partner on the plane, Dave DeFord, built a pair of wheeled dollies that
allow us to remove the starboard wing and wheel it into the hanger, next
to the plane. It takes 7 minutes to rig or derig, and can be done by
only one person.

They would be much appreciated Terry, particularly if your set up
facilitates a switch between motorglider and regular...BTW, now that
you have wings long and short, and shared ownership to boot, how do
you find the process of "wing switching" to have evolved?...i.e.,
- Logged hours...%'age as MG, and %'age w/ shorties (?)
- Are "switches" between longs and shorts made seasonally, or
whimsically?

the two temps is so small that it is not worth fitting a coolant temp sensor
(IMHO).

For rigging and de-rigging I have a set of Wing Walkers I can't live
without. I have 30 stitches and a torn shoulder from man-handling
glider wings. Now I let the equipment do the work in less than 20
minutes and save my body for other things.
