Hi All,
I've tried to send an email to Scott at Ray Allen using the address from Dale Hetrick
( Scott@RayAllen.com ), but it has come back as undeliverable.
Has anyone else had the same problem?

who could provide those nice silicone engine hoses?
Thanks in advance, Paddy

Subject: | High Price Part! |
HI All,
I was needing to replace one of the bent tube assemblies that the
choke cable runs thru at the carb. I figured a little soft brass tube
part can't be but a few bucks so I called Lockwood. WOW! $41.00 each!
The thing is 3 inches of bent 1/4 inch brass.
Has any one replaced these with their own assembly? I have an idea of
a bracket that would be stronger and more secure but I thought I would
check in on the list to see if others have come up with somethings
first.
I can afford the part but I hate being raped just because they can.
Get that enough from the government!
Thanks in advance!

Jeff,
Are those brass? You should be able to fashion one from brake line
tubing (or brass tubing) from local auto parts house. They should have
a line bending tool, too. The stuff is really cheap...

Subject: | fluorescent dye - Fuel Leaks |
Hi All,
As part of my "mega annual" I replaced some of the rubber fuel hose in my
fuel system, and despite using fuel injection hose clamps (aka expensive), I
am no greeted with the familiar smell of auto gas.
I returned from flying last evening and my wife gave me one sniff and said,
ah you have been with your mistress again.... alas I could not deny it.
I was wondering if any one has used fluorescent dye successfully for chasing
down fuel leaks, and if so could you suggest a supplier.
Thanks and regards, Paul

Hi Stefan
I have a Rotax 912 (80hp) powered Europa Classic (kit 71) and saw the artic

Please would you let me know whether the complete set is now available and,
if so, how much a complete set would cost shipped to England?
Many thanks

We bought some dye from an auto parts store. After placing the dye in
the tank, with taped cotton balls at all possible leak locations. After
waiting a day, we used the UV light to inspect the cotton balls for the
leak. Worked well.

Subject: | tail pipe clearance |
Hi All,
After searching the manuals, I cannot seem to locate any stipulations
or recommendations on clearance for the tail pipe from the fiberglass
as it penetrates the cowl.
Could I get some idea of what clearances seem to be adequate from
those of you who are already flying?
Thanks,
Fred

Hi Fred
I think mine has a good half inch or more all the way round. Some of the
Rotax installations seem to shake quite a bit on startup and shutdown, so
clearance is needed. How about that engine of yours?

Subject: | Need help with removal of landing gear frame |
While my engine is unmounted for some work, I would like to tend to the
corrosion issues of my plane.
Among others, I would like to remove the landing gear frame to get it
sandblasted and powdercoated. However, it's not only held in place by 8
bolts, but also by a green-ish cement, which I presume is a mixture of Redux
and flox.
Is there any trick to ease the removal of this frame ? Any way to soften
the cement without damage the fuselage ?
