Advice sort on the best place to bring the pitot and static lines (plus strobes)
into the fuselage from the port wing. Concerned about reducing structural strength
at the wrong point. Am tempted to bring in way back near the flap control
rod opening as is tidy for the cockpit.

I am considering putting the transponder antenna in the middle on a 1ft square
copper clad single sided PCB on the floor behind the baggage so it doesnt poke
through. Any other suggestions from the wise ones?

Just sorting the fuel system on my new build. I am considering including an RS
type flow sensor for future use but what confuses me on the 912 install is that
some of the fuel comes back which would make the reading useless unless a return
sensor was also fitted. This is the reason my fuel calculator in my C42 is
worse than useless. Any advice appreciated.

Could be wrong but I don't think that the LAA allow the RS fuel flow
sensor to be used because of the danger of blockage. I think that the
Flowscan units are the suggested route (I think that Parts for Aircraft
is a good UK source - cheaper in the US if you can be bothered to save
a few quid) - quite a bit more money than the RS unit but not as much
as putting the aeroplane down in a field.

      Graeme,

I installed the Electronics International fuel flow instrument with
      differential module:
      http://www.buy-ei.com/Pages/FP-5P/FP-5P_Details.html

One transducer measures flow to the carbs, another measures the return flow
and the differential module sends the net flow data to the instrument. I
have used it for two years now, VERY pleased with its accuracy (easy
comparison of fuel used shown by the instrument and quantity to top up the
tank again). I have not done any recalibration. User friendly. Easy to
install. I placed one transducer between the engine driven fuel pump and
the right side carb, the other in the return line in the tunnel.

Great instrument for determining fuel efficiency (range) under various
conditions as you fly and showing remaining fuel. Only thing to remember is
to update the fuel quantity in the tank when you start the engine if you
have refueled since last flight - flashing light on the instrument reminds
      you to do this.

      Regards,
      Svein

I actually placed the transducer between the engine driven pump and the
branch-off to the right side carb - it must of course measure the total flow
from the pump to both carbs - see attached photo.

      [quote="Troy Maynor"]Hi  Bill,
Perhaps these pix on the gallery link might help. I put sheet silicone, held with
little stainless strips, around the holes cut for the engine mount. This provides
a good seal around the tubes. There was a good deal of trimming with a
dremel to get a good fit. I was going to use fire caulk around the seams but ended
up putting insulation over the whole thing anyway so I ommited the sealant.
      Hope this helps.

Thanks Troy, That is very helpful and a good idea- the sheet silicone makes a nice
      neat job of it.

When you have it flying just remember to be wise and not to crawl under the

The Europa Club have a standard LAA approved mod for the addition of a fuel
flow transducer that allows for the return flow including type of
transducer, schematic and installation requirements. See the Club website.

the return fuel rate in the 912s is tiny.
the 914 is on the other hand a significant fraction of total flow

You can get the common sizes from Europa such as the pitot and static. You
can also get some sizes from RS Components.

If you want specialised sizes (I have used them on my fuel lines) the
experts are Tom Parker Ltd (www.tom-parker.co.uk).

Let me know if you have any problems or want any advice on the specials,
      such a fuel.

      Hi,

Is there anyone who can advise on bleeding the brakes on my europa.
The method stated say just use a sqeegy bottle and pump from each
      wheel.

I t would appear that I cannot feed any fluid through the system.

      Any advise would be appreciated.

      Regards John

      All,

After perusing the europa-list archive, I've picked up a lot of
      reassuring information on this topic...thanks.

I could not find any mention however of the type of Zolatone product
used...I find it comes in "Counterpoints, Liuminations, Metal,
      Polomyx, and Polomyx Airless".

Does anyone who's used it recall which product they sprayed, and
whether any one was better suited than another? (Price range is
significant...Polomyx appears to be the low-priced spread...I see that
Acft. Spruce does not seem to differentiate...)

      Thanks,

      Fred

      Hi John,
Get a large syringe from a Vet', use with a short piece of model glow fuel
line on the nipple of the caliper and shoot the fluid up hill.
      Nev.
