But it doesn't tell me what to do in my case. I did drain the oil from the hose coming out of the bottom of the engine=2C but have always done that before. I'll keep handcranking. Karl From: kevann@gotsky.com Subject: Re: Europa-List: Oil change question Karl=2C Follow the Rotax Service Instructions SI-912-020=2C SI-914-021 I get them at www.rotaxowner.com If you introduced air into the system and do not then properly purge the system=2C severe engine damage could result. I was going to bypass the tank and connect the in/out hoses together and crank the engine for a few seconds (I am not using ignition). Is that okay ? Thanks for any input. Purging of the lubrication system is needed if air got in the system. I've never heard of connecting the in/out hoses together as you suggest. Perhaps your oil pressure sender is at fault? I don't have a compressor and will make a fitting using a bicycle valve. The oil pressur e reading was fine just before the oil change=2C so I don't think it is an instrument malfunction. Many thanks=2C Karl From: kevann@gotsky.com Subject: Re: Europa-List: Oil change question Hi Karl=2C SI-912-018 is the what I meant to say.
