To the list,
Ah, happy days. What Ira did not explain is what he was watching on the
beach at Ipanema. My oh my! If you type 'ipanema girl' in to Google
images, you will get the idea. The tanga is the local name for the
dental floss bikinis and one of the most common tourist injuries in Rio
is 'sprained eyebrows'. Perhaps Ira could let me know when he heads down
to Brazil again, I would be happy to carry his bags. What a great country.
I have no idea what this has to do with Europas, but it does make a
happy distraction. It also raises that big issue:- Which is more
important, flying or the ladies? I almost forgot, he has the best of
both worlds of course. There is a lot of great hang gliding at the south
end of the beach. Why not give it a try, Ira?
Cheers, John

I'm sitting on Ipanema beach in Rio using the public wifi and not flying. Did have
a very nice visit to the Aeromot factory in Porto Alegre, though. They make
a very nice motorglider called the Ximago.
Ciao,

Though the concept of John Wigney's "dental floss bikini" blows my
mind, I offer the following to segue back to things aviation...

John,
Nice photo and a very nice airplane. Gimme a holler if you're in the
neighborhood again. My house is about 10 miles at your 3 o'clock from
you in that photo, on the west side of the valley. Nice clouds. I bet
you did'nt even have to stop and thermal on the Whites.

Hey Fred,
Thanks. The Ximango is a very nice motorglider. Very well made. I
might be visiting the factory myself next month.
I just passed 500 hours in mine. The attached is a photo I took
while flying over the White Mountains and the Owens Valley last June.
This is at the north end of the Owens, just about over Boundary Peak at
the north end of the White range. This photo was taken on a 500K flight
out of Minden, NV, to Bishop, CA, then back to Minden. I'm at about
16,500' msl here. Enjoy!
