Rough River Attendance Report for September 3rd & 4th.

This is what I have confirmed so far. I know there's a bunch more coming
but for the sake of this 1st list I needed to start somewhere. I would
ask you send me any corrections or additions direct. Please include your
name, wife's name if coming, aircraft number & nickname if you have
one. Also please include where your flying or driving from. If not
flying in please come anyway. We need a few drivers to bring Beer and
gas cans. ;o) Trust me... like myself last year the left over beer I
took home was worth the trip. LOL!

I will update the list as names are added. For those new to the idea of
flying into Rough River... It is by fare the best place on to do this.
It's in the middle of the country, you have rooms available, cabins to
rent, or you can camp out with your plane for $10 a night without
reservations. There's a great restaurant / lodge with a view of the lake
thats amazing. Yes a 20,000 acre lake you can rent a boat for some other
than plane fun (If There Is Any). There's also a golf course and it's
all within walking distance to the runway. If you need lodging the
number to RR is 800-325-1713. It's advised that we all call & act early
this year as we're doing this on Labor Day weekend. That gives us all an
extra day to stay, or fly home.

      Please send additions...

Bob & Maureen Borger... Flying Dragon Lady N914XL in from Corinth TX
Jim & Lynne Puglise... Doing his best to fly N283JL Jabiru up from Punta
      Gorda FL.
Jeff & Mary Behrens... Flying Baby Blue in from Baton Rough LA
Jeff & Karen Roberts... Flying Gold Rush in from Nashville Tennessee.
Gary Leinberger... Flying in Europa N388SG or worst case Mooney 369N

      ST.
Troy & Donna Maynor... Flying Little Grace N120EU in from Weaverville
      NC.

What about you other west coast boys?
      What about you Canadians?
      What about you southeast Europa's?
What about you all from up north east?

| Subject: | Monowheel disk brake |

      Hi all,

My original brake pads lasted 635 flight hours. The second set
(Cleveland 66-106) lasted only 159 hours. I also had to refill the
master cylinder every 20 hours or so to compensate for the rapid pad
wear. I then discovered that the surface of the disc was showing
circular grooves with some embedded steel particles emerging from the
surface. I decided to order a new disk from Europa (142 british pounds
+ VAT) . I flew with the new disk and new pads (Rapco RA66-106) for
the first time yesterday. The attached picture shows the surface of
the new disk after only two full stop landings with moderate braking.
The aspect of the surface is very similar to the old disk one. I do
not expect the new pads to last long with such a rough surface!
Has anyone experienced this problem? Any solution?
      Regards
