I have looked for standard bends that I could hose clip to but not found anything. Whats the best solution - buy some alu pipe and a bender? if so any suggestions welcome. On a similar subject its it mandatory to fire sleeve fuel pipes on the UK version. My C42 doesnt have it, my engine supplied via Europa doesnt have it and Skydrive UK say they dont recommend it as its no longer possible to inspect the pipes. A would be comfortable without sleeving. From: "graeme bird" I am planing fitting a venturi to drive a vac AH & DI has anyone any suggestions as to the best place to put the venturi. I am tempted to put one or two smaller ones in the bottom of the air duct under the prop as I have a few inches space under the radiators. I am also tempted to ditch the heavy vac instruments and fit a trutrak AH/DI -------- Graeme Bird G-UMPY Mono Classic/XS FWFD 912ULS/Warp drive FP Build nearing completion Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=336442#336442 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 06:11:57 AM PST US Subject: Re: Europa-List: place for venturi -in air duct? That makes it mandatory in the UK. Graeme, I thought we had left venturi's in the history books. My experience with them goes back to Luscombes and Austers. They were always rather dudious bits of kit that only work at all, at reasonably high speeds. That was when they were fitted externally on the wing L/E or side of the fuselage. In this position they create significant drag. As you intend fitting it/them within the cooling duct be aware that on the basis of 'not getting something for nothing' you will be interfering with the engine cooling. Though I have not seen actual pictures of it you will find that the flow lines within the air intakes under the engine will be very turbulent which will not be appreciated by a venturi which relies on smooth or even laminar flow to work well. I personally think you would be much better off with a new fashioned Vac pump or all electric/electronic instruments. Just my input for further comment. _____ From: owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-europa-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of graeme bird Sent: 09 April 2011 13:48 Subject: Europa-List: place for venturi -in air duct?
