Paul, Why replace your gas struts? Just get them recharged, unscrew the connection at the back of the cylinder and there is a valve in there, must be someone local who will recharge them, try an automotive place, be cheaper, have had my done once so far, works fine. Peter ZK-ZEB

    Subject: Coolant airlock?
Hi everyone, After a few months of not flying and installation of a oil-to-water heat exchanger, I experience unexpected cooling problems. It is easy to blame the newly installed heat exchanger, but the same heat exchanger works flawless for other builders. The problem I have looks like insufficient coolant flow. Before I toss out a system that seems to work for some others very well, I would like to know if anyone has experienced improper coolant flow due to emptying and refilling the coolant system. If there is an airlock, will it survive loading on a trailer, transportation to the airfield, a 6 minute test flight (in which the water reached red line) and some boiling afterwards? What is the proper way to get rid of an airlock and/or filling of the coolant system? There seems to be some coolant flow (so it is not a total pump malfunction) but it looks like it is insufficient. The coolant heats up slowly but the temp keeps increasing and never tops off. Does anyone know of individual differences of cooling pump capacity of the Rotax family of engines? Frans

    Subject: Spraying questions
    From: "graeme bird" <graeme@gdbmk.co.uk>
I am preparing to spraying the top coats (underside of elevators, then wings first!) and have a couple of simple questions I am using 2K acrylic Octoral PF131 high build primer and Dellfleet 350 top coat: a) how to spray large areas like wings - whether better to work in squares or walk down the wing each time? My paint says cross coats and I am using the slow thinner. b) do I need to let the primer dry ie 24 hours or is it better to spray sooner and get a better bond. I would guess dry would be best and fine sand off any tiny blemmishes. Thanks Richard, that is very helpful and has saved me some rewiring. Clearly the sensor can be either a current sink or source. -------- Graeme Bird G-UMPY Mono Classic/XS FWFD 912ULS/Warp drive FP Build nearing completion Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=338147#338147

Has anyone got any damaged but visibly acceptable blades? G-YURO is on disp lay =0Ain the Yorkshire Air Museum at Easingwold airfield but has a cardboa rd replica =0Aof a prop installed which looks rather unconvincing at the mo ment. It would be =0Anice if we could find some scrap blades that could be fitted. I have a set of =0Aslightly bent castings which I will donate, all we need now is three blades.=0AGraham
