Dear All, A request to Europa owners for the Aeroexpo weekend (17th to 19th June). The Club is supporting Europa at the show and we need an aircraft to put on show on the stand either for each of the 3 days or for the whole show. We will have two aircraft on the airfield plus a part built fuselage and the company cockpit module for potential customers to sit in. However in case of poor weather making delivery flights of the two flying aircraft available is there anyone in the area who could make their aircraft available for the stand. Please contact me off list if you are able to. Thanks steven.pitt2@ntlworld.com We have offered trial flights for potential customers through Mike Mclean at Swift/Europa so the more Europas on hand for the weekend the better. Just to remind all owners, builders and interested parties that there are several Europa supported events coming up: Aeroexpo - as above Wickenby Wings and Wheels - same weekend as Aeroexpo Tour de France (contact milneab@btinternet.com for details) - 11th to 19th June Looking ahead I hope you all have the AGM / Popham Europa Fly in weekend 9th to 10th July in your diaries - we had 40 plus Europas last year and hope to exceed that this year. Food will be provided on the Saturday after the AGM and it is hoped that as many of you that want to stay over will. Please see the Europa Flyer for more events and contact details. Look forward to seeing many of you over the next few weeks. Steve Pitt Vice Chairman Europa Club G-SMDH trigear

Greg My flap cross tube on kit 497 is 44.6 inches as supplied by Europa (untrimmed and without bearings). My flap dimensions are shown below, measured from the closeout web between the flap and aileron and the inboard face of the wing pin mounting plates. Port 1908 mm or 75.2 inches Stbd 1912 mm or 75.3 inches Hope this helps. -------- Regards Kelv Weston Kit 497 kelv@kdweston.biz Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=342114#342114

Sorry for the mishap of N127ZP. It is critical that the retraction system is over center against the stops of the frame and remain in this position all the time the gear is down. The factory has improved the original design with the addition of the strut (Mod 51). But the lower end of this strut being attached to a pin and fork assembly, there is inevitably a play which develops there overtime which makes the mod less effective, possibly allowing LG08 arms to move away from the stops. I designed a variation of Mod 51 which eliminates this defect. See attached pictures. The port LG08 arm is modified with the installation of an aluminum plate glued with epoxy and flox. The lower end of the strut is bolted directly on LG08 with an AN3 bolt. Therefore there is no possible play in the LG08/LG12/strut assembly. I have measured the cross tube on kit 558 at 44 9/16 bearing to bearing. This is a snug fit between the pins. I remember cutting around an 1/8th of an inch of one or both ends to get the thing to fit properly. Your problem could be that the flaps are shorter in length at the flap root close-out, setting the flap drive pins further apart.
