Subject: | 65l Europa fuel tank |
Good evening list
I am working on a little project that may benefit us all, does anyone have a
line drawing of the Europa 65L fuel tank that can be emailed to me, I also
need the dimensions if anyone can get a tank to do this I would be most
grateful, I need all the measurements, including depth of and dimensions of
the saddle part, width, height girth etc!
I look forward your response and to the power of the list....
Kindest regards
David Joyce

David - I haven't measured it, but I do have a complete spare tank that you can
have, to do what you like with. Available for collection in Gloucestershire -
let me know if you want it.

Subject: | 914 Ignition Module |
I had a bad ignition module which showed up as a very low rpm on the mag
check. It was almost 900 rpm difference. Turns out it was the top module
which fires the top plugs on the 914. I went thru the Ignition
troubleshooting guide (see attached) it pointed me in the right direction.
It was not firing the top front two plugs. I could pull the plug wires off
and no difference. It was amazing how well the engine ran with just the back
two top plugs working when I was testing just the top module. The engine
kept running with just one plug firing on one cylinder as I was testing and
pulling plug wires off.
The engine has under 500 hours and I cannot get any explanation from any
Rotax people as to the cause of failure. They only say that failures are
rare, and I might add expensive $950. All is fixed and I had a great flight
today to a few of the Islands up here in the Pacific Northwest (looked for
Fred on Orcas, didn't see him:)

Hey Jerry...if you were heading north just east of the airstrip at
about 1500 ft. ASL...say between noon and 1 pm or thereabouts...you
went right over my house...engine sounded smooth and oh so quiet...I'm
just south of the marker for Parker Reef.

Way to go...always feels good when the bird is healthy.
If you had come by Sportsman (2S6), you could help me bang my head into the
wall, while working on wing (and my) attitude 'adjustments'. :))
Cold ones on me (Root) Beer. Hangar 4, on the east side of AP, and not
(quite) next to HANGAR 18
Anyway, all welcome anytime..
