Troy
Thanks for your kind words. For your personal
pleasure, I give you some photos even more:
Couple of weeks ago, I spent with my 10-years old
daughter Tuuli a whole week in Lappland in the
point about 400 km (250 miles) behind The Polar
Circle. That was Nuorgam. That is the northernmost
point of The European Union. We were fly fishing
lax from the river Teno (got one small one 3 kgs)
and practising some gold panning (got all together
10 pcs of small gold "hippu" (that is a quite
small but pure grain of gold).
It took all together from Tampere EFTP to EFIV via
EFKS and back 7 hours flight time and a bit over
900 nm. In Ivalo we met Jos O. and he kindly
accommodated us and borrowed also a nice Renault
to drive even to the Norther territories. Next
time we are going to fly direct to Honningsvog in
Norway, which is nearby Nordkap (which is said to
be the Northernmost point in the Europa, but it is
not. It is Mehamn nearby).
By car - completing whole this journey - what an
awful idea it would be. Europa is an ideal
personal transportating machine for human beings
for mid-range legs.

Hi Folks,
My brake is leaking fluid from the caliper. I suspect the O-ring is
bad. Anyone know what size and type of O-ring that is?
Thanks, Kevin

Hi Tim,
It is important to understand that AVGAS and MOGAS use two different scales for
their octane number.
RON = Research Octane Number is used in Europe and some other countries for MOGAS.
MON= Motor Octane Number is used worldwide for AVGAS.
Here in France, unleaded Mogas 95 is 95 RON and 85 MON.
Unleaded Mogas 98 is 98 RON and 87 MON.
>From what you wrote, I assume this is the same in your country. Therefore, your
Mogas 91 is probably 91 RON and about 81 MON.
On the other hand, AVGAS 100LL is 100 MON, and the new AVGAS UL91 we available
in France is 91 MON.
ROTAX says the 912 needs 90 RON minimum, and the 912S and 914 need 95 RON minimum.
So those flying behind a 80 HP 912 can almost use anything, but for the 912S
and 914 do not use any Mogas below 95.
The new UL91 AVGAS is a very good news as it offers additional margin against detonation,
no additives which can damage hoses, gaskets, etc and a better quality
control. Unfortunately the price is about 20% higher than the best Mogas.

Peter,
This item is sold by Amazon UK on behalf of 'Lime Shop'.
No mention of maker's name or origin though I guess this is China. I ordered
the pump yesterday and will report back on its performance when I have used
it for a while. You will see that several other users are quite satisfied
with the product.

Thanks for all the replies.
Sounds like something best avoided if I want to finish my toy in the
next 10 years.
Good to hear it at least sticks better than the Poly Fiber Top Coat of a
few years ago. Tony K probably still has nightmares about that.

Hi All,
Yes, I use one all the time at the hangar. I have two. The first one I found on
Ebay. Had to put a toggle switch on it the first time I used it. The cheap rocker
type fell apart. I reduxed an aspirin bottle top portion on top so I would
have the cap there in case I needed to service the switch. Then I ran the wires
down to where the original switch contacts were. The reason fuel runs down
the outside of the shaft is that its a bypass port of some kind. The second unit
was given to me by a former hangar mate. It is just an inch or so short of
reaching the bottom of my 5 gallon can and haven't used it yet. In any case,
I must still set the can on the wing cause I haven't tried to lengthen the hose
yet. Probably won't pump as strong from the ground.
