Hi everyone. Building a NG trigear & need some advice on avionics panel.
To simplify matters I was considering using a commercial power panel
such as the TRAYMOUNT EXBUS2V, LIGHTSPORT or MINI POWER PANEL as found
in Aircraft Spruce catalogue. Does anyone out there have any experience
with these units. Thankyou. Paul Munford

Stephan,
I may well be interested. Currently we are just on the final stage
of completing the flight testing of my machine G-CBHI the 1st UK approved
Europa Motor Glider, weather permitting completing the spin testing next
week. This has been long struggle with all sorts of modifications but it
finally looks as if we are winning. Please keep informed, I will be a little
more certain after next week!
Very Best Regards
Ian Cook

Subject: Europa-List: The Aero 2012 Friedrichshafen Europa Gathering
Hi Europa Flyers and builders,
The Aero 2012 Friedrichshafen Europa Gathering is the subject.
You will find more information here: http://aero2012.scassel.se
It would be smashing if Europa flyers from all parts of Europe could
participate.
We (Svein Johnson and I) would like to book hotel for all pilots that like
participate
well in advanced due the amount of visitors at Aero 2012.
If your presence is not certain at this point it does not matter. First of
all we would like to see
how many pilots that would like to participate (in other words: like to
fly, eat good food, have fun , watch an excellent exhibition and so forth)
Hope to see you at Friedrichshafen 2012
Best regards
Stephan Cassel

Restoring
the Mono=92s undercarriage involved removing and replacing the engine. Subs
equent
flight checks were excellent=2C and I was really pleased with the job.
The very
next flight was a different story. High power settings produced a disturbin
g engine
flutter and a loss of some power. Ground checks confirmed the fact=2C and a
variety of attempts were made to solve the problem. All without success! If
anyone else has experienced the same and has the answer please let me know.
The symptoms=3B
1. Engine starts and ticks over very nicely. Mag.
checks OK.
2. Fuel pressure is good.
3. 2500 rpm. Smooth running. No
noticeable difference on mag. checks.
4. 4000 rpm. Fluttering becomes
apparent. More pronounced on one mag.
5. 5000 rpm. Fluttering is obvious.
Again more pronounce on one mag.
Checks so
far=3B
1. All spark plugs replaced.
2. All wiring and leads checked.
3. Valve covers off=2C and valves=2C
seating=2C collars etc. Checked.
4. Connections to engine management
switched. Mag. symptoms switched with it.5. Carb settings checked for ful
l opening and closing.
There is a possibility
that the ignition is not advancing. Is there a simple way to define that?
Thanks in anticipation.
Bryan

Hi Bryan
Had some thing similar earlier this month and found two problems, One of th
e
red wires from the charging coils had broken
inside the stainless shield coming up to the Ignition boxes, and also found
one of my Mag switches playing up and leaking to earth
some times,
It took a fair bit of head scratching to isolate the faults,
I have included a easy fault finding list to troubleshoot your problem, (
found on the Internet)
best wishes
Ivor

Hi All,
I am about to order a new tail wheel but before I do I just wanted to
check in to see if anyone had a tail wheel left over from a Tri
conversion that I might be able to purchase.
Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul,
Yes a couple of us here in New Zealand have used the mini power panel or
Sport Panel as it used to be called, it works well and slides in nicely
under the main panel as per the attached photos, I would recommend it for
simplicity
