Hi Listers,
Sort of linked to the query from Gavin - has anyone used the VP-X Sport or
Pro Power solid state switch/circuit breaker units in a Europa or had any
thoughts about whether it clashes with any LAA requirements - as a minimum
it apparently addresses the trim motor failure mode and OVP protection - if
'legal' my main concern is whether the 1.9lbs weight will net out against
the circuit breakers and wiring that would otherwise be required when my
Europa will only have a simple VFR fit, no electric flaps and probably no
landing light?

Hi Paul,
Yes a couple of us here in New Zealand have used the mini power panel or
Sport Panel as it used to be called, it works well and slides in nicely
under the main panel as per the attached photos, I would recommend it for
simplicity

Hi everyone. Building a NG trigear & need some advice on avionics panel. To
simplify matters I was considering using a commercial power panel such as
the TRAYMOUNT EXBUS2V, LIGHTSPORT or MINI POWER PANEL as found in Aircraft
Spruce catalogue. Does anyone out there have any experience with these
units. Thankyou. Paul Munford

Hello Max and Ian,
thank you so much for your support.
So much specific know how in just two replies!
Today I inspected my brake setup and found it like Max expected.
The toe brakes have been converted. That means screwed together and fixed anyhow.
First I will try to adjust the fluid quantity. and perhaps will build longer levers.
But the first problem I have to solve is getting access to the lock screws as there
is no opening in the cockpit.
All in all not a big peace of engineering.
Will come back to you.
Thank you again

Subject: | Coax Advice for VHF antenna. |
Gidday,
Ive got a bit of a hybrid, a classic with a few bits of XS thrown in. For example
I've got a sternpost, premanufactured that I was kindly given, and I am now
wondering if this is the structure I should be attaching my vertical VHF antenna
to the front of. Now I've got the Europa kit, with torrodes or whatever they
are called, and a bunch of COAX. I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on
the merits of building up this antenna or whether I should just bin it and use
the Z shaped Bob Archer VHF antenna that I also have, and put it on the side
of the fuselage? I don't figure it would hurt to give it a try, but am unsure
if the Europa one is worth building, and if so, knowing nothing about COAX fittings
attachment and being a lousy solderer, does anyone have any specific guidance.
Thank you in anticipation.
