A question to all those who have done this already. Where did you locate the ADAHRS unit for your Dynon? Obviously each aircraft will have more or less spots available which meet the criteria depending on other options such as 914 pumps, autopilot servos etc. It would be useful advice for builders if we have a spot we could recommend. A couple of links here may be of interest. Doesn't look like they are available though, would probably have to get a bulk order together. You could do it just in front of or behind this bulkhead. Using the Dynon 15 foot harness it works out fine. For brackets, its easy enough to make 5 ply bid layup over some appropriately sized box tubing and then use them glued to the ceiling. Also smart to devise a means for slight adjustments, as you have read, the ADAHRS module needs to be within 1 degree of pitch and yaw axis. And this location is easily with in the distance from cg requirements. Handy to use 90 degree angle tubing fittings for connections. Bill McClellan A164XS Conventional gear Jabiru powered.

Graeme, Late greeting: Congratulations with your first flight! Hope to see the beautiful airplane - and you - at Popham next June. Oil tank breather catch bottle - see attached photo: I stopped by a ladys hair dresser saloon and got a small, empty bottle. Don't know what had been in it, but probably some expensive hair treatment liquid (there is a reason why homebuilts in our country are classed "Experimental"!). Made a holder out of s/s plate, bolted to the firewall. Rubber hose simply put down the opening. Never a drop collected, though! (Note re. the photo: Taken during the winter before I installed an oil thermostat. The oil cooler is covered by aluminum plates, as is abt half of the coolant cooler. With the thermostat, I don't need to do any blocking of the oil cooler, while occasional blocking of part of the coolant cooler is done remotely (and stepless) during flight from inside the cockpit by means of a Vans cooler shutter (very nice piece of equipment, ordered from Vans in the U.S.). Part of the coolant cooler is always open to the air flow, as the warm air collector for cockpit heating is placed right behind that section of the cooler.) Regards Svein LN-SKJ

Hi All, Europa no longer supply the two latches used on the oil and water access doors on the upper engine cowl. Instead, they supply a 1/2 turn dzus fastner which I don't like. ACS supply the latches for a staggering 150 dollers each ! http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/flushlatch.php I have just purchased a pair for 8 uk pounds each, they have arrived and are are perfect, they are made from stainless steel, here is the link if any new builders are interested http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300562893161?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 By the way, thanks to all who contacted me regarding the Naca vents that Europa no longer supply and particularly Alan who is sending a pair on, Steve.
