Interesting to see how little weight there is on the main wheel during the
landing, even quite far in to the landing run. This is evidenced by the gap
between the wheel and fuselage underside compared to the same in the footage
both just after takeoff and when taxiing.

Subject: | Lost - Oil Tank Cap |
Hi,
Has anyone had the misfortune to lose the filler cap off their Rotax oil
tank and if so what sort of damage ( wise) are we looking at.
>From Rotax I am guessing there won't be a lot of change out of 50. I
suspect it is probably a standard industrial component that can be sourced
elsewhere at a reasonable price. The question is where.
Does anyone have the filler spout / cap dimension - might be worth looking
on ebay.
Thanks,

Thanks Frans and Jan,
An additional wiring diagram shows the switch that by-passes the strobe box
from the AC supply as 20 Amp, so there's a hefty current. I'll be putting
the box as close to the rectifier as possible, and use the existing 22 AWG
strobe wiring from the previous installation for connection to the strobe in
the tail. There will be no point to running the AC strobe continuously, but
mainly flying in the circuit, approach, on the apron, etc. Lets see what
happens.
Best
Richard

Carl,
I've not had the ill fortune to lose the filler cap but I located a price from
the 2011 Lockwood Price List, page 80, about 2/3 down the page:
974 647 Oil Tank Cover, without Venting -- US$30.65
You can contact Lockwood at 1-800-LA-ROTAX or e-mail info@lockwood.aero
Hope this helps...

I am also very interested in the model. Just to be clear, is it an unbuilt kit
or a finished model?
I am based in UK.

John Hi!
It is an unbuilt Kit.
At the moment it's in Massachusetts and awaiting repatriation to UK in
New Year.
Haven't set price until carriage and customs price known.
Bit of a queue of interest at moment so will update you in New Year.

Hello, We just finished a new website for homebuilt aircraft.
www.homebuiltdirectory.com < http://www.homebuiltdirectory.com/ > We are
trying to grow it to be the world's largest single collection of
homebuilt aircraft/project listings. Please visit and list your
aircraft for the world to see. It's free and only takes a minute. Our
listings include text, photos, videos & a link to your website. A huge
benefit of our site is the ability for site browsers to search our site
for specific aircraft...(for example... all homebuilts with Jabiru
engines.) The website just became live a few weeks ago. We would
greatly appreciate any word of mouth advertising you can pass on to
other homebuilders. Thank you very much for your time. Sincerely, Jim
