During 'shake down' flights we twice lost an exhaust spring, both front, left then right, whether snapped or shaken loose, who knows. New engine, new springs, new exhaust - why should this be? Applied with a string not pliers, Anyone else had this? now wire locking but need more hours to see what happens. Maybe its the stiffness of the new engine creating lots of movement on startup? -------- Graeme Bird G-UMPY Mono Classic/XS FWFD 912ULS/Warp drive FP Just Test Flying to obtain permit Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=362354#362354

Graeme, I was told to put some high-temp RTV Silicone gasket maker by Permeatex on the springs between the wires to absorb the shaking. Haven't had a problem with them. Don't know if it was due to the above application however they are still attached. I also lock wire the to the muffler to avoid the departure.
