I've seen so me very sharp corners/burring on them which cut through the spring hooks. I once spent half an hour deburring all the holes on one that I worked on. =0AGraham=0A=0A=0A________________________________=0A From: graeme bird =0ATo: europa-list@matronics.com =0ASent: Tuesday, 3 Janua ry 2012, 20:49=0ASubject: Europa-List: Rotax 912 exhaust springs going walk co.uk>=0A=0ADuring 'shake down' flights we twice lost an exhaust spring, bo th front, left then right, whether snapped or shaken loose, who knows. So that it is easier to get the spring on, and easier for it to jump off. All my springs are put on the harder way with the spring end openings away from the lug. my 2 penny worth Richard Holder ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 01:55:27 PM PST US From: GRAHAM SINGLETON Subject: Re: Europa-List: Exhaust safety wire Nigel=0AI haven't seen many of these exhaust systems so I don't know how ma ny have sheet stainless lugs compared to wire lugs.-=0AThe sheet metal ta bs do tend to wear the springs unless de burred.
