Hi Mike,
Anyone who paid in advance is a winner! There is no need to make an
extra
payment.

The Europa Club Annual Membership Subscriptions
Europa Club members who pay their annual subs by credit card, using our
online service, will be aware that the system is not working at the
moment.
The payment system resided on our old Europa Club website and the
hosting
service was withdrawn without warning and before we were able to build a
new
system that would reside on our new website www.theeuropaclub.org
We have encountered technical difficulties in getting the payment system
back on line and it could take some weeks to finalise and test the new
hosting arrangements. In view of this I am asking all members who
normally
pay online by credit card to hang on to their money for a few weeks. I
will
send out another e-mail to notify you when you can make your payments.
We are also developing a Paypal member subscriptions system that will
act as
a fall-back if the technical problems persist.
Just a little reminder - the annual subs are now =A325.

Just wanted to stop by and say I have joined the ranks of Europa owners and recently
purchased an Europa kit that has been in the building process form around
2000. It was tucked away in a hanger in FL. I hope to get her flying in a couple
of years. Right now she is a monowheel but I will be turning her into a
tri-gear soon. I already have the tri-gear kit minus a few parts (MG02, main
gear sockets, and some nose gear fork components). I'll be also looking for a
912USL soon.
A little of my background, I'm Kim Prout's nephew and helped him build N111EU
back in '96. Flew to Oshkosh and meet Ivan Shaw there where he picked up the
some of the first new tail wheels for conversions. I have spent many hours in
111EU and fell in love with her. It was amazing and a huge learning experience
to watch my Uncle and Grandpa come up with ideas while building 111EU. I'm
an ERAU graduate that flew in the Navy for a few years and now hopes to return
to the air soon.

Kyle-
Welcome to the group. One of the greatest advantages of the Europa is our Builder

Kyle,
Welcome to the Europa group. With your background, you will probably be providing
as much assistance to us as we provide to you.
Keep us posted on your progress. Or, better yet, set up a build web site on EuropaOwners.org
so we can follow your progress.
Hope to see you at Rough River or KOSH one of these years.

Subject: | trim link rod fouling sevo bellcrank |
Just finished filing out the slots in the side of the fuselage moulding
for the trim link rod to connect to the trim tab drive pins. I was
gradually driving the servo from one end of its travel to the other
while filing to ensure the slot is OK for all combinations of stick
position and trim setting. I am worried to discover that the fork of the
servo actuating rod connected to the end of the trim bellcrank TS03 is
contacting the trim link rod TS05 when full up trim and full up elevator
are applied simultaneously.
I observed these metics.
Holding the tailplane at full up (about 14 degrees up from the neutral
position in-line with the fuselage fairings) and driving the trim servo
from neutral towards full up, results in the plastic fork making contact
with the trim link rod as soon as the "full up trim" LED lights. If I
let it run on, the trim motor slows slightly, sounding a bit distressed
(guess how I found this problem!) and the bellcrank mounting trunnions
and top of the aft bulkhead start to distort slightly.
Driving the servo to full up trim with the tailplanes full down allows
the trim to reach its end stop without distress. Now if the tailplanes
are raised towards full up, the servo rod fork makes contact with the
link rod at about 11 degrees up from neutral. Trying to move it beyond
that causes visible movement of the aft bulkhead where the servo is
mounted.
I am attaching a couple of pictures to show the situation with full up
trim set - first one (p1040971_small.jpg) shows how it looks with the
tailplane TE nearly full up and the second (p1040973_small.jpg) shows it
with the tailplane TE full down (rest position, as no mass balance
installed yet).
I did check carefully that the servo travel was correct with respect to
the damper slot in the bellcrank mounting trunnions, and I used the
template for positioning the trunnions according to the manual.
Can anyone advise me what to do about this? I don't think I've ever
heard it mentioned before.
in friendship
