Hi Nev,
I did a =9C5-years-service=9D this winter and replaced all
rubber parts: fuel, oil, water hoses, etc
My engine, 912S, has used Evans from the very first day and it
approaching 400 hour.
No sign of corrosion at all. On the contrary, clean alloy stubs and
radiator. I also cut the hoses for closer
inspections. Same result: clean.
Another 912S owner in our hanger did swap from Evans to water without
cleaning the system from water.
That was not smart. The mixture turn to a jelly like condition.
Nev, do you know if this 912S has run on Evans all the time or if it has
been =9Cconverted=9D from 50/50 ?
Best regards
Stephan

Subject: | New Europa owner |
Hello Kyle,
Welcome to the family, I am sure that you will find building and flying your
Europa as rewarding as your uncle Kim, talking of which the E mail address
that I have for him does not appear to be correct!! Can you let me have his
contact details?
Kindest Regards
Ivan

Subject: Europa-List: New Europa owner
Just wanted to stop by and say I have joined the ranks of Europa owners and
recently purchased an Europa kit that has been in the building process form
around 2000. It was tucked away in a hanger in FL. I hope to get her flying
in a couple of years. Right now she is a monowheel but I will be turning
her into a tri-gear soon. I already have the tri-gear kit minus a few parts
(MG02, main gear sockets, and some nose gear fork components). I'll be also
looking for a 912USL soon.
A little of my background, I'm Kim Prout's nephew and helped him build
N111EU back in '96. Flew to Oshkosh and meet Ivan Shaw there where he
picked up the some of the first new tail wheels for conversions. I have
spent many hours in 111EU and fell in love with her. It was amazing and a
huge learning experience to watch my Uncle and Grandpa come up with ideas
while building 111EU. I'm an ERAU graduate that flew in the Navy for a few
years and now hopes to return to the air soon.
Kyle

Hi,
I'm not up with Evans coolant, but on any engine I care about like my 912S or
my
Ducatis, I use Distilled water 50/50 with a high quality normal antifreeze,
not had any corrosion or cooling issues as yet,
Steve.

North America friends (Sorry no Canada or Europe view yet),
This is from a non-flying friend of mine.
As stated on the page, not to be used for navigation planning, but darn it's pretty
cool and provides an interesting view of continental wind patterns.
http://hint.fm/wind/
TWO RESEARCH SCIENTISTS HAVE CREATED AN ANIMATED MAP OF WIND PATTERNS ACROSS THE
CONTINENTAL U.S. THAT CHANGES WITH HOURLY FORECASTS.
THIS IS REALLY COOL - ESPECIALLY ON AN IPAD.
