    Rampil Not miswired, in the Schicke regulator that is where they have the indicator lamp and I chose to go without it. Thanks for the observation.     Hi Peter, Interesting circuit diagram, Thanks for posting it . I was amazed to see that the VPX its self and the MGL unit are not protected by a fuse or circuit breaker - they must be reliable !     Peter, The shunt is a low value resistor through which all current out of the alternator flows. The small voltage generated by the current gives you your ammeter signal to the MGL.
